I attended a James Taylor concert in the summer of 1974 or 75 in the Berkshires. It was pouring rain and cars were backed up. We ended parking and walking the rest of the way to the venue. It was a hot steamy summer night but we didn't care. He gave an incredible concert but the hightlight was Carly Simon jumping on stage and their duet - Mockingbird. A once in a lifetime experience. We were all so young....A different place and time.....

Can't take my eyes off Carly Simon in this video. Such a classic.
I hate to admit this, but back then I was a kid who hated both them and their music. It was on the radio all the time, it was slow, sappy, and I couldn't stand it. Fast forward to today where I'm in my 50's and now this is the only kind of music I want to listen to. And I'm feeling really glad that I lived long enough (and "grew up" enough) to appreciate these two awesome performers. Their music speaks to me on an emotional level I can't put into words. Thank you, Carly and James, for all these wonderful gifts.

Hi Lorna hope you’re okay?
I just finished reading Carly Simon's autobiography "Boys in the Trees," the story of how she met James as a teen and he ate her Popsicle. Later she loved his "Sweet Baby James" album and played it over and over. One day out of the blue she declared that she would marry him someday, which turned out to be very prophetic. Their marriage had good times, bad times, and in the end it broke apart. Now I watch this video and all I can think is that they had something that was truly great, for however long it lasted.

@@daviddemar551 Thanks. I knew it was about his addiction, but I was focusing on why HE wasn't speaking to HER. Because she left him? I'm just saying it's complicated and we don't know his reasons and why he can't bury the hatchet. Obviously, she would prefer things be more amicable.

I think she has mobility issues now and cannot perform like this at her age.
They had great chemistry doing this one! Wish they had done more duets together - love them both!

They did a few, check out KZread. But this was their best.
James is excited like a kid who's been invited to the stage.
Absolutely Great Duet - Love Them

They were rock and roll royalty and I miss them so much as a couple! Growing up in the 70s, they were definitely my favorites ♡♡ Rock on Mockingbird
Carley Simon took a smoldering brand of real free beauty, stunningly exquisite and powerful, and ran uphill with it, giving the following generations a clear path toward true ascendence!
One of my all time favorite songs. I can remember bopping around the house with this playing and no matter what the chores, etc it would just lift me up and put a smile on my face. Plain and simple fun
How real music is done, folks. Amazing.

And of course, I’m joking bc Migos (and a lot of today’s music) is garbage...not ALL, but a lot.

Real music? Ripping off black folks songs and sounding like fools in the process.
the strength of MUSIC, bringing two people who dealt with shyness, and anxiety with fame to give us happiness
Dear Lord. How many besides me remember what a fantastic guitar and vocal musician Carly is, besides writing such glorious songs? Both Jimmy and Carly: deeply troubled artists, personally, still raised all our hearts, back in the day! I got to experience them together once, by surprise, in Durham…
Pure Magic. I can watch this time and time again. It's amazing to see a moment in time with two legendary performers working together and very much in love.
Love this - looks like they had so much fun doing this song . Love the energy and James facial expessions.
I heard this song on the radio - had to hear it again on KZread- I got up and danced. These kids- yes I call them kids back then. They had magic between them and it just rubbed on to you...and it makes you feel good all over. They are great, great, great!
I just love this video of these two. So talented so in love so long ago… Great musicians …. Timeless …
She has more energy than 10 people....mixed in with her bare feet....legendary status...
hard to describe how terrific they were and the energy this song generated. BRAVO PLUS.
I was there! Carly was not on the bill, and it was such a surprise when she came out after midnight. The air was thick with reefer, and Carly's voice rang like a bell throughout the Garden.

They're living our dream! Doing what most of us want to do, but would never, in public and look at how much we love it!!! So,..why do we have such insecurity, instead of just 'belting out' what we feel?! This is truly BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
How can you NOT love this video???

She is stunning! I’m not even into women and I could just stare at her all day. So sad about her agoraphobia. 😔 I have heard Clouds in my Coffee in my head every single time I added cream to my joe since my very first cup. And say, he IS tall, isn’t he! 😯
