Le Main Square festival d'Arras a vu les choses en grand avec Moby, le chauve le plus électro que la Terre ait jamais connue. Il aura de quoi faire remuer les foules, tant il accumule les tubes depuis la sortie de son album Play, en 1999. Déjà dix ans de carrière...
Après plus de 20 millions d'albums vendus dans le monde, l'artiste new-yorkais devrait offrir, avec Wait For Me, des successeurs aux tubes Go, 18 ou encore Why Does my Heart Feel so Bad.
A noter également que Moby se produira à une autre occasion en France, quelques jours plus tard, mais cette fois il ne sera pas seul... Il sera présent le 5 juillet au Main Square Festival d'Arras aux côtés de Coldplay, Placebo et Lenny Kravitz.
«Depuis 2008, France Leduc, organisatrice du Main Square Festival, et Herman Schueremans, créateur de Rock Werchter, ont uni leur passion au sein de Live Nation France Festivals afin de faire du Main Square Festival un rendez-vous incontournable, grâce au soutien inamovible du Conseil général du Pas-de-Calais et de la ville d'Arras», indiquent les organisateurs dans un communiqué.
Incontournable, c'est en effet le cas. Déjà l'année dernière, près de 30 000 personnes par jour s'étaient ruées pour voir et entendre Radiohead, Mika et les Chemical brothers.
Cette année, les organisateurs souhaitent faire plus fort avec une affiche prometteuse: Coldplay, Placebo, Lenny Kravitz, Moby et Duffy. Le prochain Main Square Festival d'Arras risque donc d'être fort fréquenté cet été, confirmant sa suprématie sur nombre de ses concurrents qui s'étaient inquiétés l'an dernier et l'accusaient de servir le géant américain du divertissement Live Nation, via un jumelage avec le gros festival belge Rock Werchter. Il ne croyait pas si bien dire. Car s'il n'existait en 2008 officiellement aucun lien entre le Main Square et Live Nation, les organisateurs annoncent clairement le partenariat en 2009…
Les billets pour assister à ce rendez-vous estival aujourd'hui très prisé seront mis en vente à partir du 5 février.

For the record : it was the last band to play this day ( we had Kaiser Chiefs, the National, Arcade Fire and 2 more i think), so I and most of the crown were there for about 10 hours at the start of the show. Moby told us something like "this is now the biggest dancefloor of the world". Never been so exhausted in my life, but damn it was worth it
