Absolutely the same here, the crescendo and release, the sensory bombardment... Michael Mann has an insanely powerful feel for what songs to put in his films and just precisely where. But then you also need to have an equal talent for cinematography and editing, and in this sense Mann is the rock 'n' roll equal to John Ford. What an incredible artist.

@@XTrooper3936 I have been thinking about my death since I was ten years old and waiting for it that's not how a little boy should think though there's something really wrong with him but he doesn't know what to do about it because he's normal but he doesn't like what he' sees everyday he thinks the world is ugly and wrong and he just wants to not see it no more but he isn't joking about it because he's not afraid to die but why he's ten years old he is supposed to be scared he is a kid but this one was never a child he was born a man for some reason now he is still alive and can't wait until the end he keeps thinking about the past half century and God the devil whoever could not have made his life any more of a living nightmare than it has been he sometimes thinks that he is being punished by God for his sins in the past life because he's done nothing wrong in this world so why the torture who was he before was he Adolf Hitler or Paul pot it must of been someone really bad for the price he had to pay
Already as iconic as some of the legendary, nostalgic tunes from the original Miami Vice of the 80s. A felicitous transformation into the new millennium, just as Mann had envisioned. It's as wistful now to think back to 2006 as it is to miss the golden 80s when I was a teenager and ardent fan of Don Johnson growing up. Sigh. One of These Mornings you wake up and realise that you are old and have less time ahead of you than behind, but until that day it was always the other way around. One of these mornings... has become the perfect song to remember both times with the same strong weltschmerz. ❣

As a sailor listening to this music is what it's all about. I also have the Miami Vice movie and watching that go fast boat get it across the water is soul stirring. Now let's go to Havana.
I know what the song symbolises, but to me it literally means disappearing from the face of the world. I've done it before and I can do it again. I always remember the speech in heat by Robert De Niro's character "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner".

Patti Labelle if you are watching I literally cry each time this song echoes through my soul . Being an older Dad of two young children I guess runs thru my mind . But the Grace in your voice run those tears as grateful ones . I think upon my passing will have it played at my Service. It's that beautiful to me and so true . None of us last forever in this breath but do upon this flesh death . Echoes from Heavens orchestra pierce the soul . Thank you , Patti . I know deep emotions with the passing of your Sister run thru your mind and surely she sheds a heavenly tear as these vibrations fill the space her carbon still infinite from each breath she gave . ✌❤✊

People say Miami Vice the movie was too much style over substance. I agree but I still love the movie. I'd say is my second fav Michael Mann movie after Heat. The acting may have been a little dry here and there but the cinematography was beautiful and the music fit perfectly. The scene when they were flying and it's a long shot of the plane going past CB clouds in the background, gorgeous visuals.
I visualize myself sitting in a big, comfy, wrap-around chair on a veranda somewhere exotic like the Keys staring out at the ocean as the sun slowly sets. With this playing in the background, a mojito in my hand & my beautiful wife beside me. Stunning tune!

Came here from the Netflix movie,why i fell in love with gangster, great movie
One of the best fucking songs I've ever heard.
Posted this a year ago but I feel it bears repeating: To me Miami Vice '06 is one of those underrated gems. I am a big fan of the original show and still loved the movie. The direction, the characters...yes, the characters were great. They didn't have typical arcs or no arcs at all. They were just the characters. The movie felt real with it's depiction of crime and crime fighting, the gun fights were terrific. Then we get to the love story and it has some really moving and striking stuff transcending the flick to a new level.
@bobmurphy8091
9 жыл бұрын
"a big fan"....hmmmm, not so much. Not sure of your age, not sure who you are. The basis of the series, the film was the late 70's, early 80's, and the cocaine spread of that time. "the gin fights were terrific"...ahhh, not if you were in them! Or around them. Movie magic is great, unless it is about your real life. At that time Miami was a place to fear, not inhabit....it went from old people playing games and living, to a drug related Beirut...God help you, if you were in the wrong place at the time! We've glorified Bonnie and Clyde, Dillinger and others....Hey I get the attraction of seeing rebellion...but this was a horror show of blood, guts and anarchy..... Sorry, but your about the wrong thing...they weren't hero's...they were gangsters.
