AGREE ! and yet some FOOLS cry and scream that Jason isn't as good as his father or that because of his dad = he was born to play the drums ! I've been a drummer for 57 years now and I know that Jason has LOADS of talent and he was good enough to be asked to actually play drums with LED ZEPPELIN ! Just because your father has talent doesn't mean that you will ! Michael Jordan's son are not highly paid Pro Basketball players !

I remember when Jason first came on the scene. As a drummer, I really wasn't impressed at all; he seemed decent, but really didn't sound like the drummer people wanted to see (a newer John Bonham clone). He wasn't bad, but not anyone I wanted to follow/see. From this video, it seems pretty obvious he's improved in a lot of ways. First and foremost, he can sound like his father when he wants to. Secondly, he's not just someone impersonating John Bonham; he's his own drummer, and you can hear him inserting his own personality and style into this take on a classic solo. Finally, he really channels that arena rock drummer thing very well. Kudos, Jason (and thanks Ken for posting this)

The people commenting here about Jason's talent and ability, and how it differs from his father, are comparing apples to golf balls. Why did I not say to oranges? Because the equipment John used is only similar to what Jason is using by the mere fact they are percussion instruments. Would Jason be as praise-worthy on the equipment his father used in the '60s & '70s? Certainly, given time to practice. Jason strives to carry on his father's music, sharing with younger generations, thus keeping John's memory (and music) alive. John died so young, leaving immeasurable amounts of music genius yet untapped. The world missed out on so much more "Classics" that could have been, if Led Zeppelin had a career of 40+ years like Rush, Rolling Stones, or Aerosmith instead of the brief time they were actively together. I pray John Bonham is resting peacefully in Heaven, knowing the tremendous amount of joy and happiness he continues to bring to the world. As for Jason Bonham, I sincerely wish him long life, prosperity, happiness, and the inner strength to look the nay sayers in the eye and say "Don't like the way I beat sticks? Go fuxk yourself!"

Yeah, but man, imagine having to live in that shadow. Nothing he does will ever be good enough for anyone. Jason has clearly worked incredibly hard on his craft, and if he wasn't his father's son, he would stand out as a remarkable drummer. As it is, he his just inevitably compared to his father and will always lose that fight that he surely never wanted. Of course, he invites a bit on himself these days by mimicking his father's setup and style, but let's face it...that's all anybody wants from him.

Damned good jam. Jason would make John super proud. He drums better than me,but he started a lot earlier. I didn't get started until I was 29, and that's pretty much like trying to teach an old dog new tricks. I just wish I could hear the actual recording from the mixer on this because there was a whole lot of love (and that was pretty loud love) bleeding through. I was talking about the applause of course, with a pun on a favorite old Zep song. The home movie was really cute too, it teared me up. I don't know why, could've been missing John and being sad that he left us at such a young age, and in such a tragic way. The loss of so many young and talented musicians in that era could almost send a soul into depression. God bless Jason, and I wish you many more years to come buddy.

The reunion gig I think laid his fears to rest knowing he could move on and go forward after proving himself to the world in the ultimate test. He's his own man and that's what every Dad wants their son to be. It's a pity John didn't stay around long enough to see this but he would be proud. And the home movie footage is priceless!

Great upload,he does very well this night. He'll never be his dad,but then his dad had Page/Plant/JPJ around him. The monster that was Led Zeppelin will never happen again....ever.
