“Moby-Dick, A Literary Analysis: Part 1/3 Melville’s America”
Mountains of Books is creating a library of video companions to the great works of world literature for both casual readers and students alike. For our first outing, we dive into Herman Melville's literary leviathan, Moby-Dick. For this installment, we provide historical context for the novel.
CW: Historical instances of violence, animal violence, racism, and imperialism.
Special Thanks to the Nantucket Historical Association and the New Bedford Whaling Museum, invaluable sources for historical research.

Thats great really enjoyed the blood meridian take. You should submit that to his hard cores
" His are the ships displayed on the seas as banners "
what version of “drunken sailor” is that at the end credits? who are the performers?
Great video you should read blood meridian and do one about that

Go for it! We covered Blood Meridian in 3 parts but there’s so much depth to that book alone you could easily do more than that. We’ve been making videos since December and have found it really fun and very rewarding! If you decide to start a channel best of luck, I always love seeing more content on McCarthy!
keep making videos this is great

Thank you! We are glad to hear you like the video, our next video is coming soon. An analysis of Don Quixote.
I have a complaint: the background music is too much in the foreground! I’m constantly trying to hear past it, and it gets tiring after a while.
Great work, thank you.

"Self made?" What's that
Love the video, highly informative, but lean away from the mic. I can hear your tongue and salvia slaps every so often

That's the taste of intimate intellectual discourse my friend lol.
10:31. I'm surprised that a American would know what a Chamois is.
Came here for an analysis of Moby-Dick, not a history lesson on the American Civil War.
