Mobile Treatment Suite | Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust

“It’s changed my life because I’ve got my freedom back; I don’t see it now as having treatment; I see it as coming along, having a quick injection, and off I go!” - Valerie Cottington, patient under Royal Surrey’s care.
Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, alongside partners EMS Healthcare and Lloyds Pharmacy Clinical Homecare, has revealed a new mobile unit that will continue bringing patients’ cancer treatments closer to home.
Initially opened in 2020 and launched by Dame Judi Dench, the Trust is delighted to have been delivered an upgraded mobile unit that offers patients an even better experience.
The ultra-modern unit provides a tranquil space for up to 80 patients a week to be treated close to home by familiar regular nurses, in either Horsham or Woking, taking the hassle and stress out of attending regular hospital appointments.
Emma Masters, Lead Nurse for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust said:
“We recognise that patients are on treatment for many years, often requiring multiple attendances to hospital. It is really important to us that we can ease some of the burden of receiving cancer treatment.”
