Spot on. Great video. This is the easiest way to explain tuning a duplexer. I especially like the way you double check the insertion loss at the end. I would recommend this video for anyone who may have struggled with duplexer tuning.
Excellent video, clarifies lot of what I have been trying to find out about tuning a duplexer.
Great video explaining the basics! I've volunteered to help administrate a local 440 amateur repeater, so I'm sure I'll be able to put this to good use!
Great video. Really helped me wrap my head around tuning these duplexes. Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I can’t tell you how much it helped and has continued to be a refresher over time,
Fantastic video I learned a lot I have been looking for a video like this for a long time.
THANK YOU! This is just what I have been looking for. And you are even using the same service monitor that I have available!
Thinking of buying this spectrum analyzer, your video explained a lot. Thanks for the time to create and upload.

👍🏻 EXCELLENT VIDEO! Thanks..
Aunque no entiendo muy bien el inglés pareció entender el procedimiento anteriormente ya es manejado un 2001 y es una excelente herramienta para el ajuste de filtros pasa banda duplexer, etcétera Gracias por el video
Thanks , Hay we live near a cell tower and have a "smart meter" on our utility box, I often hear a hum sometimes, is there anyway to measure such frequencies and or determine where it is coming from? Peace
Hi am trying to learn how to tune my 2 meter duplexers. what spectrum analyzer do you recommend for a beginner also nice video
thanks Sir
This looks like the duplexer that is often listed as a 20w model. I do not understand the requirements internally of a duplexer, but I am very curious if they can get smaller? Not just in wattage, but in the physical size. If I want a duplexer used for portable hilltop repeaters when hunting or working on the ranch I don't need anything too serious. Currently the repeater is a solar powered setup and due to not having a duplexer I am simply doing cross-band to stay full duplex. Since I am only using HT's for the TX & RX radios, I don't need a full 20W duplexer, physical size is much more important to me, can these things be built smaller? Better yet, how far apart should the two frequencies be (within the same band) to not require a duplexer?
Is it normal that you join the port "Gen out" and "ANT" with your coxial cable, the line is located a - 61 dBm? Should not it be closer to 0 dBm?
Can this be done using a Marconi instruments 2955b?
So do you have to turn any of those screws on the duplexer or is it all software?
How does it look so easy when everyone else does this? I can’t get mine right no matter what I do. Using a nano vna
WHEN YOU TUNE THE HIGH SIDE YOUR TUNING ALL SIX SCREWS???
do you remember what model duplexer you are tuning?
Hi, I have one of this duplexer ...., Q is it possible to tune it on a completely different freq ? I. e. tx 431 an rx 433 MHz ? ... or they need mechanical adjust ? thanks
Thank you VERY much for posting this particular video! I have that same exact service monitor and had great luck tuning band pass and BP/reject cavities. But I struggled with NOTCH duplexers, I just couldn't figure it out. Your video fixed that! After watching your video I was able to re-tune a little notch duplexer set for a UHF repeater and I also FINALLY got my 900 MHz duplexer tuned up for my new 900 MHz repeater! After watching your video, it was a snap! Thanks so much! Bill - N5MBM www.n5mbm.net
