I don't buy into the idea that Pac didn't know who Babylane was! Yes, Pac didn't know him personally, but I'm pretty sure already heard about that incident at the mall before, like it was shown in the movie, and he know that Crips we're doing security for Bad Boy, & knew about the bounty, so he may not recognize him by face but as soon as Trevor told everyone this's the dude who did so & so, Pac know what situation he was getting himself too, plus Pac was no sucker, the man who shot 2 police officer you think he wouldn't stomp a Crip!

His brother was killed by Monkey Man who was Suge’s homey at first but when he was not willing to return the 2 cars that he took, Suge tried to get him killed. When the attempt failed, he retaliated by killing almost all of Suge’s Piru homies(Buntry, Heron, Hen Dogg, Poocie and many more)
