be careful, and feel free to tell me in case I missed any!
also REMINDER: don't be weird about autistic hcs in the comments. This is just my personal reading and I made this silly thing for me and my friends who also agree with it. Be respectful please 🙏
That said, I underestimated how long this compilation would be sjfhsjd
My initial plan was to just make a little dumb vid under 5 mins to post on tumblr, but then I started actually compiling the clips, and I reached 5 mins by ep 3 alone, so that idea had to be scrapped lmao - in fact, the first version was over 40 minutes long,,, so. yeah. djhfgskfdh
Tl;dr: this is fairly condensed, just watch the show for the full autism experience lol
(Another idea of mine was to go a more serious/educational route and start fucking inanely rambling on every clip about the autistic symptoms present, but,,, nah. nah. The ones who know will know. I'll save that brainrot for another day 👍)
Anyways, yup. Hope this is as funny as it was in my head. Have a nice day everyone :)

    So real. My interpretation of the characters goes like this (feel free to ask for clarification on any of them because trust me, I have thought about them Way too much): Mob: autism, obviously. But I've also seen people assign inattentive type ADHD and OSDD to him as additional diagnosis...es Reigen: yup, ADHD, definitely Ritsu: Autism but less obvious and OCD Teru: NPD Tome: Autism and hyperactive type ADHD Serizawa: GAD and Autism And I see Tsubomi as having autism as well. As for Shou.... no fucking idea dude but that boy is certainly not normal. He just exists outside the DSM5 criteria lmao

  • @Eshisakka

    @Eshisakka

    Жыл бұрын

    @@thabassum0466 Yes, Mob's emotional repression was caused by trauma involving his powers. But guess what? Lots of autistic people _are_ traumatized. And in a lot of cases, autistic people start masking _precisely because_ they are traumatized. Whether that would be social rejection, lack of understanding and appropriate care from guardians, or simply being too overwhelmed by their environment or even their own emotions, that trauma and subsequent masking is often connected to their autism. And in that sense, I don't think it's unreasonable to read Mob's complex as autistic masking at all - even though, yes, he is a fantastical character in a fantastical story that doesn't function like ours (no actual autistic person could actually destroy a whole city and kill dozens of people in the process if not careful hdgdjd). But that doesn't mean that there can't be any parallels. Plus, remember episode 3, where Mob had a flashback to the other kids, and Tsubomi, ridiculing him for 'being weird', to the point where "Get a clue" was literally triggering for him? Remember how in the last arc we learn how Mob fell in love with Tsubomi because she _accepted_ him? And don't you ever wonder where ???% even came from..? What _made_ Mob even start to reject his psychic side to the point where his self split in that way and became dangerous to that degree? It didn't happen for no reason... Social rejection has always been a part of the story as well, not just the otherwordly fictional powers. They're more of a narrative device than anything, something to carry the themes. And different people will see these themes and characters in different lights - thus, Mob's experiences with his powers paralleling autism and his repression being a type of masking being one of them. P.s.: I hope my reply doesn't come off as too aggressive or negative. Just explaining the interpretation and why autistic people may find Mob relatable in that way ;^^

    @@costelinha1867 i guess its because characters that are intentionally written to be autistic, often end up feeling like a bad stereotypes since the writers often prioritize showing the characteristics of the autism spectrum, like instead of first written them as compelling characters, writers tend to just revolve their entire character into their neurodivergence, and not giving them things like a personality outside of austic traits (every neurodiveget person, still develop their own traits, quirks, etc that have nothing to do with their disorder) (As a person on the spectrum i always found easier to relate to characters who are in the same situation as Mob (not actually meant to be autistic, but can still be interpreted in that way), than the majority of confirmed autistic characters.) I'm 23 years old, afab, still living at home, dropped out of every training or apprenticeship I started so far, can't hold down a job, the only relationships I've had so far were online, I have difficulties making friends and going outside. Mob doesn’t have autism, he just isn’t socially confident, at the end the series all that goes away and he is a perfectly social person, stop claiming characters as autistic or having adhd when they don’t.

    Yep, that's them. I don't quite understand why they are doing this - can't a person/character just be whoever they want to be? Without any labels, like a completely healthy ordinary person? Why do they make them suffer so much? Autism, ADHD and any kind of label isn't a funny thing. It's serious. I have ADHD. It brings inconvenience to people, making life harder for them. And they are just throwing it here and there, when the info isn't even canonical. Of course let them have their fun, I'm not trying to be offensive, but I'm just wondering, being curious...why? What's the purpose?

    @@Melanxolycits for representation basically, it’s difficult to find good representation of neurodivergent characters and even though it’s never been confirmed that mob is autistic, it can’t be denied that his experiences resonates and is similar with what people go through. (i also have autism and adhd)

    I always call myself “autistic coded” bc I fit the criteria to a t (and my brother has it too). I’m actually scheduling an appointment with a psychiatrist for a screening im so excited 😭 I used to really reject the thought of having autistic traits but seeing Mob/Shigeo always made me feel seen since before i even really considered if i was on the spectrum. I mean obviously some of the situations are played up for laughs, but shit more likely than not I get were hes coming from and it makes sense like something id do/done Maybe its bc im hyperfixating on this series again but this video made me so happy like ❤ Mob makes me feel better about adhd/autism, like

    I was diagnosed with Autism at age 5 and think I have ADHD too. 😅 Just recently found this show when I was really struggling and seeing this just helped me not feel so alone. I know that sounds sad but sometimes all you need is a chance to laugh at the antics of someone who has similar struggles to your own and surpasses them despite that, improving along the way. Such a heartwarming story! Also love how he was his OWN antagonist in the 3rd season. I think we all saw it coming but it was amazing regardless!
