Moab Rim4x4 Trail. Terrifying Moment in 2021 Easter Jeep Safari.

Ойын-сауық

Moab Rim provides incredible views of the Colorado River and amazing four wheeling. This is one of the best 4x44 trails in Moab. Two weeks after the Jeep nearly backed off the cliff in this video, two men unfortunately rolled off the edge near this same spot. This was run as part of the Moab Jeep Safari and Kevin was the trail guide. This video has my single most horrifying moment I have yet experienced on the trail and possibly ever.

    Beautiful images. We will be making our first trip to Moab during the first and second week of June. Are there generally groups that we would be able to tag along with or maybe paid group guides? I know you’re not supposed to off road alone but we won’t have anyone out there with us.

  • @crawlerutah

    @crawlerutah

    3 жыл бұрын

    I have often gone to trailheads in the morning, strike up a conversation and ask to tag along. Gemini bridges parking lot, poison spider and Hells revenge will have people meeting most days in the morning and certainly weekends, usually between 9 and 10, and most would be happy to have you along. You can also reach out on Facebook to groups like the utah keep crew, call the clubs etc, Dixie 4 wheel drive, shops etc. Relatively safe and well travelled trails for those new to 4 wheeling are Kane creek road tohurrah pass to chicken corners and back. Anothe fun look is Gemini bridges road to the Gemini bridges arches, to highway 313, down long canyon, hang a right on potash road to shafer canyon and the shafer switchbacks up to highway 313 again in canyon lands, then go drive through canyon lands. If you are more experienced and want harder trails, go to the trailhead between 9-10am and try to tag along. You can reach out to me and see if we happen to be going down as well that weekend. The local rental shops also have a lot of information and resources.

    Moab is a cool place but just don’t go unprepared I even got out classed by that rock pivot on Kane’s creek right before the water crossings. It’s a lot harder in person. I saw evidence of a rollover into a 20ft+ ravine. My tippy meter was at 19side to side and 9 tipping forward in that spot. Sketchy feeling with no sway at and a roof top tent.

    I think it is very nice if you have a UTV to be able to drive it to the trail and back. I have never seen one on a sidewalk. I like the American Flag. I think that there should be no modifications allowed to the exhaust and all laws should be followed just like driving a car.

    It is hard, it allows a lot of access to areas that normally would not be available to inexperienced or people new to the area. I think education is the key, staying on the road or trail at all times is so important. I don’t want to introduce any restrictions beyond stay on the trail as that could open Pandora’s box to further regulation and interference from groups in big cities, based far away from where we live.

    The views we are able to see are almost unreachable otherwise. We stay on trails that I wouldn’t want created had they not already been there. Overall I feel this helps to preserve a and reserve the rest of the land. Humans have been doing things to rocks since the Stone Age and the rocks will be there long after we are gone. Wait till the cliffhanger video comes out, the beautiful views are stunning. I think we are all kids at heart. The effects of this are minimal compared to the massive cities and highways, amusement parks etc. The area around us is still pristine.
