Mo Salah Rebuilding His Country And Village! An Amazing Story of the Egyptian King
Mohamed Salah is one of the most underrated footballers of our time. But his personality goes far beyond football. The Egyptian is one of the brightest representatives of his country, Africa and the entire Muslim world.
And right now you will find out why. Subscribe to our channel and like this video. This is Vamosito channel and let’s begin!
Generosity
In 2021, Mohamed Salah won the Laureus Sporting Inspiration award for charity. Mo helped a huge number of people in his homeland and we can say that he helped the whole country in many ways.
For example, the Egyptian supplied oxygen tanks to a hospital in his native village of Nagrig. Salah provided the assistance through the Nagrig charitable association, which he himself founded in 2017.
Director of the Medical Center Hasan Bakr said, “Salah and his family donated oxygen tanks to Basioun Central Hospital to help patients with the coronavirus in Nagrig. He often intervenes in Egypt’s problems by making donations.”
Mohamed donated about a million pounds to fight the coronavirus in his country.
The medical center, built with Salah's money, regularly helps about 500 people, including widows, orphans, the sick and the elderly. In addition, Mo has funded the construction of an ambulance station, a girls' school, sports facilities and a sewage treatment plant.
“When you think of Mo Salah, first of all you think of an outstanding footballer, a great scorer, and possibly a nice guy. What you don’t see and what you don’t know is what a good person he is. And if I tell you that he is an even better human being than a player, then you can imagine what kind of person he is,” Jurgen Klopp said, congratulating his player on the award.
But if you thought that Salah's concern for his native village ends there, then you have no idea how wrong you are.
Mo is not limited to money transfers, which would be the easiest thing for a worldwide celebrity to do. He built a school there, an indoor football field and purchased equipment for a gym.
He once built a $ 450,000 water pipeline in his native village. And another time he donated 498 thousand British pounds to an Egyptian hospital to buy a bone marrow transplant machine.
Mo also came up with an unusual way to help young people. He helps couples to get married by donating money for weddings.
Several years ago, Mohamed donated 27,000 pounds to the Egyptian Veteran Football Association. This organization supports former players who are facing serious financial problems. Salah's money has helped 120 families whose monthly income does not exceed 400 Egyptian pounds. In British pounds, it’s only 16.65. For reference, the average salary in Egypt is 2900 Egyptian pounds.
For all this, a school in his village has already been named after Mohamed as well as a youth center under construction, a part of the premises of which will be occupied by the Museum dedicated to the Egyptian.
Moreover, it is Salah who is the face of the anti-drug campaign in Egypt. After he began to participate in it, the number of drug addicts who voluntarily sought treatment increased by 400%. Now that’s what we call a scale of an individual.
Tolerance
In 2018, Salah was included in the top 100 most influential people in the world according to Time magazine. In an interview on this subject, Mo raised the issue of equality between men and women in the Muslim world. He honestly admitted that his awareness of gender equality has evolved over the years.
“We need to change the attitude towards women in our culture. This is simply necessary. Now I support women like never before because they deserve more,” Salah said.
Such a statement can be considered quite bold, especially against the backdrop of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. The official FIFA account published the quote on Instagram and Salah reposted it.
In an interview with Bleacher Report, he touched upon the topic again, “The problem that interests me the most? I think women's rights are the most important thing. We need to change something in the Middle East. I am not saying that we treat women badly. But we have the opportunity to be much better. It’s in our hands and our minds."
