Does Mo Ibrahim know that Ethiopia still occupies a sovereign Eritrean territory? If Ethiopians really want peace, it is very easy ; they have to just withdraw from the Eritrean territories and then negosiation can start.

What the government in asmara fails to realize is who invaded who first regardless of the boundary decision the international commission of The Hague determined eritrea invaded first! Ethiopia was defending itself. The Ethiopian government has said time and again we are ready to have dialogue but in order to have dialogue both parties have to be willing to talk. Meles Zenawi, Hailemariam Desalegn, and the current prime minister Ahmed Abiy have all reached out to the stubborn and irrational dictator Isaias. The Ethiopian government should rightfully be skeptical of the government in asmara’s claim that it will normalize relations with Ethiopia once it vacates Badme. We trusted the dictator isaiass in 1998 and we were stabbed in the back so we have no reason to trust him now. Anyone who believes issaiass will normalize relations with Ethiopia just because it vacates Badme is foolish and a poor student of history. Right now issaiass has no incentive to normalize relations with Ethiopia and I would argue he uses the border dispute with Ethiopia as a pretext to maintain his dictatorship over the country. Ethiopia must sustain the no war no peace policy indefinitely.

Hailemariam had not really a power. the powerful mens in his party are comming from Tigray ethnic. this hidden peopel habe the power in ethiopia. they are the king makers. additionally they change him with another man from the same party. in Ethiopia there was a power change iin the party itself not from one party to another.
