Yup. Waste of time waiting for it to get good. They just don't know what they're doing, and there's absoluuuutely NOTHING making me think it's ever going to get better. They just don't seem to want it to get good ever. We had a good run, let us move on to the next thing. The first month of the game was the most fun I've ever had in a game I think. Day one, everyone low level just PVPing everywhere while questing, camping tents in the entrance of every town, discovering new plants you can harvest, man it was a blast.

Agreed dude. Launch open world pvp was legit. After the dupes they changed client sever interaction and the combat never felt as good. I came back and bought the expansion but nothing beat that first month

@@pomps8085 i spent hours roaming around pvp flag on just to get a maybe a fight every hour or so lmao. the biggest tragedy was how rare those pvp moments were, and my server died in open world pvp is the best because u never know whats gonna happen or around the corner. OPR is just doing the same tactics on repeat and really is missing the point of pvp in mmos.

I have been through this with a few games before, and it really sucks when the company cuts corners and ruins a games potential

The problem is Amazon. They are an S-tier company for marketing and Wall Street has their backs for the last 30 years. Only goal is to come into an industry and suck the oxygen out from their competition. Blow up big numbers at release so they can show their Wall Street investors what a great company they are and then forget about it 6 months later and move onto a new thing. Their only goal is to suck the oxygen out of the gaming industry so that they are the only one standing. I feel bad for the devs that worked on the game and the players who invested time in it, but at the same time not surprised to see the results.

They probably should concentrate 100% on PVE and no PVP at all for that game. So much lore to use they can make an epic game that lasts years like FFXI or WOW or FFXIV. Thanks for the video.

After 1k+ hours since day 1, I gave all of my stuff away, deleted my characters, and uninstalled the game in March 2023, and in April 2023, I removed the game from my library so I feel better. I... just could not stand it anymore.

I quit when they nerfed Shirking Fortification, rendering my 3.8mil bis gear completely useless. I only got to use it for like 4 days. It was the 2nd time they completely shit on thousands of hours of effort.

I think that you are absolutely right. I had 1442 hours (not consistent)in the game from launch, as well as having participated in all the Alphas and the Beta. Brimstone Sands brought me back for a little while and the expansion brought me back for a short time. I enjoyed the game, for the most part, but it was never good. Adequate, would be the highest I could judge it. I believe that Amazon has written off the game and the current player base. Your guess about rebrand/relaunch was something I haven't heard elsewhere but does strike me as the most likely scenario.

Eh. I'd say that you were right about it being "fine" from a limited point of view. As an entire game, though, it hasn't been fine since about 5 weeks after launch. Which means likely since beta, really, and the beta play + first 5 weeks of gameplay that I enjoyed was based on having too little info.

@@Nyce-Gaming from someone who likes to play "the whole game", crafting should have been better thought out (with zero RNG for traits) from the start. Then there would have been a stable market for materials, encouraging people to play the whole game. And the influence system should have been there at launch. A de facto gatekeep on large-scale pvp was a bad move too. Should have been open pvp for resources, forts, flag points or whatever, from the start. And if your company can hold down your territory in real time, you lose it. Lots of stuff. But that is water under the bridge.

This game suffered from the new age "release a broken mess and fix it for the next 2 years" syndrome but the issue is with an MMO game, you cant miss out on a playerbase for 2 years like singleplayer games, that will kneecap an MMO heavily. Mmos gotta be baked well, not to mention that their content was heavily delayed too because of bug fixing. The bad launch had unredeemable consequences

@@Nyce-Gaming I felt it was kinda weird to have a NDA for that closed beta test. I won’t get into it, but you’ve also played KR ver. So not sure why it’s secretive. But distraction, most likely. The whole we got something big in June but can’t say what it is but it’s big is a bad move. Say it, tease it, but if you can’t do either don’t say it. Just leads everyone speculating what it is and from their track record, just leave people disappointed when they say whatever it is

Theres multiple teams that operate in ags. Throne won't hurt new world ags is just a publisher . If anything hurts new world it's more resources being sent to LOTR. Also throne is just going to be dead on arrival. Game is already pretty dead in korea.

Over 5500+ hrs played by the end of season 3 and I haven’t been back since. I had so much hope in the game because it wasn’t like any other mmo on the market at the time. I haven’t been as patient with no mmo like I had been with NW. But the devs unfortunately and it’s obvious…has put NW in the backseat and is now being used as a test dummy for lack of better word for LOTR.

For years I gave them feedback asking for proper support for companies - there was no motivation to join or stay in a company. You can still party with 4 friends for dungeons or PvP. And signing up for a War was by faction, not company. "But", you say, "it is the company that officially declares war that gets the territory." Our company did more than 50% of the PvP work for the declaration for seven straight wars but lost the "coin toss" all seven times. The company disintegrated overnight.

June announcement is them closing the pc servers and them opening up console. Appreciate the vid. ❤

The day AGS announced there would be no more content for at least 6 months, with relatively little new content since launch, my son and I quit. We'd been playing since release with one break during the last big content drought after Brimstone. We gamers often talk about games with massive potential, and New World is one of those. Unfortunately, the team running this game can't seem to pull themselves together and make a coherent live service product. Meanwhile, most of us are now off playing indie games that put AAA (or AAAA) games to shame. Helldivers 2 is one of the most fun times I've had in many years and it's an indie dev team, doing live service very well, at a $40 price point.

It seems the smaller the studio the better the game or more worth your time the game is

played alpha beta and at launch loved it for a few weeks then quit out of lack of things to do. came back for brimstone update was fun for another week or two but then quit agian. i just dont know if i can bring myself to play anymore.

Thanks for the vid - I don't think it's dead. I think it was an pre-mature birth and has been on life support. I'm pretty sure it'll be back in Q3 2024

Yea like I mentioned at the end, there’s still hope that they do cpr. Right now we’re rushing it to the emergency room and the doctors said there’s a small chance it’ll live. They will try administering a June announcement or a quarter 3 transplant

T-Bagging has increased dramatically in PVP . Players are toxic in mutations and leaving the dungeons. Bugs are in huge amounts. This has made me quit the game a few days ago.

4800 hours for me. Finished season 4 then stopped for lack of having anything to do. Waited for season 5. Played a couple of days and finally gave up as the game is almost as bad as it was at launch. I'll hold off until the "huge announcement " in June to decide to do a full Uninstall.

I've been playing since launch (7k hrs) and quit 2 days after my most recent video. The video was a jab at exploiters showing I don't need any to kill them. Well, 2 days after I posted it, I was given a 24hr ban for the very exploit I refused to use. I assume AGS doesn't have any semblance of a system that can accurately identify cheaters or exploiters. I worked at Activision and if their system is anything like year 1 of Warzone or earlier, they have all types of devs in a Slack channel documenting their personal play experiences and asking for random players to get bans. Similar to a player reporting but with a much higher turnover due to nepotism.

Played from launch, really was ready for a new MMO, but not long and I found myself just standing around, spending more time reading forums. Never happened to me before. It was depressing. Logging in felt more like a chore, I had paid, tried to get some value from it, but couldn't. After 1000 hours or so, many of them just spent standing around, I quit. Tried return once, got the same feeling almost immediately, uninstalled. Didn't come back for the mounts. Don't think anything could bring me back, and I'd not ever pre-pay for an Amazon game ever again, I'd wait for some months, seeing how reviews are going, if at all. New World felt soulless to me, passionless, dead inside and out, purely created to make the company money, not because anyone actually had love for it or a vision. Dread to think how they will utterly slaughter Lotr with that attitude.. but hey, we still got Standing Stones actually investing love into Lord of the Rings Online (and they even brought old orc and elf camp back in the Ettens). Don't think Amazon will be able to create something even remotely equal, despite new tech, they lack the heart.

I have like 3k hours in the game. I quit as well. YOU MADE THE CORRECT CHOICE! Worst MMO devs by far. I hope they lose their LoTR license so we don't have to go through that inevitable sh*t show on their garbage game engine.

Full reboot is a must. Also needs to take way longer to get to max lvl. We blow the leveling that’s the best part doing MSQ. Brackets for opr is also needed 20s, 30s, ect. Even with a relaunch I think it’s too late. Love you new world RIP.

screw OPR, that was the final nail in the coffin for open world pvp. "hey why go out and adventure when you can queue for OPR while afk in town". disgusting gamemode!!! 0/10 IGN! :P but seriously

the game itself is fine, theres just not enough of the game. Bugs can be overlooked if gameplay loops are refined/solid. New World just needs to revise its gameplay loops with people who actually understand what players enjoy. Doesnt need console release atm but I think honestly the devs leveraged porting the game to console in order to buy themselves more development time to try and save it. I think the devs do care - with evidence from season1-3 where improvements were actually made and it was going in the right direction. Now I think the execs saw the numbers from xpac and said "we'll take it from here" and are calling the shots now. It is what it is, the combat is too good for me to give up on it- and I will probably play until the game officially shuts down or if they do some major change that makes the combat unfun/different, but I understand anyone who quits :p

I think they need new management. Scott seems like a nice guy, but it's just a bit silly now. I quit because it seemed like the team had no idea what their game even is. TLDR. Every single aspect of the game is broken and felt bad. Almost to point that it feels sabotaged. They killed arena, as in 0 Players, where you could queue all day and never see one match,they did it in one patch and never tried to fix it They killed OPR by turning it into DOORPR and only fixed it on the delayed season 5, but also they made note to say they need to keep the PVE players in a PVP mode happy?!?!? The seasonal content was a snooze fest, just a massive damage sponge with boring mechanics. No other real options, so forced boring content. Influence races were added, great idea and saw alot of participants. It quickly became known that the only way to win was to spam the repeating PVP quests. Basically, avoiding actual PVP was how you win. PVE content was just as goofy. M3 dungeons were the ultimate example of devs not playing their own game. M3s required so much investment to actually compete, having a PVE set, changing the gems in every piece. I saw people requiring you had two sets of armor, with different gems. Want to run a new dungeon well...sorry you would have to switch them for each one. So choosing to do multiple different M3s felt bad. Dungeons had mechanics that hid their own mechanics. I really wanted to play them but trying to find players for them was pulling teeth. They also didn't scale any of their high-end content with the expansion and the level increase. Sandwurm was for cosmetics only and dark matter when it was hard to get. Trials? What are trials? Oh that Powerleveling thing? Right gotcha. Crafting high-level items required immense amounts of gold, and i am pretty sure that anyone who crafted 700 GS most likely bought gold. Not everyone but I personally didnt know anyone who did it with out. So not only did you have to grind it or spend a bunch of gold to level it you were met with a 150k bill for trophies and 200k for the gear. Want to grind for it yourself? Extremely small chance to drop meant this was near impossible. I did hundreds of chest runs and got 0 of the items i would need. Dont get me started on Wars. Sorry but they are just incompetent on every level. I am not even sure a Realm Reborn would convince me to come back just to watch them patch the life out of their own game and refuse to address any of the obvious design flaws.

I was there from the alpha/beta to 3.5 months after launch. I quit because I found out that there was no REAL substance to the end game. I was able to get to GS 625 3.5 months after the original launch. Not enough endgame content to retain people like me and friends. We are your old school traditional, Neckbeard, Die Hard PvE players. That is why they have FAILED.

I first started olaying last spring abut May, played abut 4 months, i uninstalled and quit because it wasn't enjoyable i had more fun playing Starfield and ESO...thats saying a lot about the New World game and its longevity and quality

i have 4k hours in the Game, and i just wish it had ESO like content distribution and the NW combat/Gathering/crafting =). Just sticked to Helldivers 2 and sometimes i log in to NW. But i just keep an eye on Ghost MMO or i just go back to eso (wich i dont wanna do) ^^

It's frustrating since so many people care and WANTED this game to be good... but for the price, it was a dollar decently spent. I'd do it again. Still interested in what is going to be the "big" news for June. Maybe it's that Sony/Microsoft dropped the ball and saw how incompetent they are. Or Amazon has their own new console coming out lmao

Archeage is closing very soon fully at 27th of June. All of our years of efforts are gone, similar to Tera Online, and now it is time for New World if AGS does not fix itself... Thanks to AGS, worldwide population dropped to around 5k-6k sth... EU servers are 3 and only around 3k-4k players active online most of time currently... Soon, New World is going to close soon too. AGS does not care or listen any feedback or what players say and there is no solid roadmap for long term gameplay. Instead, AGS says that without New World there is no new LOTR mmorpg. NW players are laboratory test subjects for new LOTR mmorpg, AGS has abandoned New World already for new LOTR mmorpg...

As a casual player playing a couple of hours after work, this is the MMO that consumed my nerves the most...As a most PVP player, and having played several MMOS before with not perfect PVP balance, I do not pretend to have an ideal balanced PVP and so on, but mtf this MMO's PVP is weak...

They were better off releasing it as it was originally designed--- a survival pvp game. Now, because of the engine used, which cannot handle large group pvp or fix the desync issues, it was probably wise to shift focus. But they could'nt afford to wait 2 more years to release the game. EIther way the fate of NW was sealed from the start thanks to Lumberyard

What if they are going to sell to a different developer, and that's why they cant talk about it. The developers are not giving up on it, they are just changing developers. I have never played this game, and im sure it's just a crazy, very improbable scenario. But that was the first thing that popped into my mind while listening to the developers.

They don’t need a rebrand they need to take ownership of the direction of the game and stick to a vision. Along with a way to once and for all balance the combat. Some of us don’t have the time to play the boring PvE to create a new build because they can’t balance the game. All I want to do is log on enjoy OPR not bowpr and log off.

new world was at its best when it released, there should've been a lvl cap then unlocked lvl with later updates and stuff while they worked on the issues, everyone enjoyed low lvl pvp

I stopped playing this game when they started with leveling gear…. leveling up gear is so stupid. I thought the game was great until that came along.

New World is so friggen dead. They need to shut the servers down. Right now.

Why it is failing is too much to say in a forum. New World is fun. The leveling is now solid to good, the expeditions/dungeons are good, PvP combat is good... the issue is end-game simply doesn't work right and it is a bunch of little mistakes that add up to an end-game that is not engaging enough. Now, at launch it was not ready and burned so many that they'll never come back but if they had launched with an MMO like it was this time last year, it would have faired far better and then build off this. But bottom line, these devs are clearly not gamers or at least not MMO gamers. They do not 'get it'. They have gotten better at balance and a number of things but they simply don't understand how to make an MMO end-game that will hold players and it isn't because of lack of content, it is because of lack of design since they cannot properly sustain either PvP or PvE players.

👏 well said!!! New world should have LAUNCHED with the amount of stability and gameplay it had around season 3ish. And so now it’s forever playing catch up which sucks for end game players steadily wanting engaging content

Dude this game in mainteance mode since release, brimstone was created by old crew that is no longer here. We have solid history of their updates in 3 years, anyone who expect anything meaningfull in June is just stupid.

i was looking for some mmorpg to start play,i find New World,then i start to look on youtube videos about this game, its new game,only 2 years old and i find video with name "returning player ..." that is when i get that this game is dead sad times, game looking pretty good i think game was neglected because of new game they are planning to launch.

Indeed. It’s sad to see. I think they know know matter how good they do, public perception is ruined so they’re putting more focus into T&L and LOTR

FF14 relaunch would be the best thing tom do but something tells me they don't have the balls to do it. Amazon would sooner pull the plug.

Stoped my self after almost 10k/h i had this feeling fro mday one whne game came out i knew the shange direction from alpha/beta to what we have now it was supsoe to be full pvp open world but they shange it so i know thye rush it but it have been a cap filelr when not working ore playing other games but but after dlc i jsut knew this game is over stopped around jan i think and my company to you really see how many mistakes they really do i think 1 they suprice us but i leaning more towards it´s fail and dead and they only running it to test their engine and improve on it for future games.

The game died at lost ark release. When they give up PvP by giving priority for pve. We can talk about easy asf Raid too. Or even when they tried end game breaches and die like casuals during the first months

Thats the take you got? Thats not the vibe presented. I spoke on the June announcement a lot in this video. Last chapter especially. I personally am taking a break unless a big june announcement occurs like apparently many others are :(

For me, the last nail on the coffin were the mounts in OPR. Now OPR is full of mercenaries running like zergs from point to point and it destroyed the team play completely.

Duuuuude I saw a post about this! I haven’t seen, but it sounds like one of those ideas good on paper, but horrible in practice. Bet it disrupted group play and trivialized pushes towards the middle objective. I bet groups of 6 back capping easily lol

@@Nyce-Gaming I stopped playing about 4 days ago because of this. For me this was clearly a desperate decision because they have nothing new. They knew it was a mistake to activate them in OPR because when the last expansion came out mounts were not available in OPR. And the thing is nobody was asking for it, there were no complaints or posts requesting mounts in OPR, so why? Why not a fair matchmaking system? Anyways, in my opinion this decision is a clear message to me to play pve or fuck off of the game with my pvp wishes.

@@NoAlias536 yea I remember when they first introduced mounts on the PTR. Mounts were allowed in opr then they went out their way to remove that saying it was an accident. Now look at them. No sense of conviction

I agree completely. I only solo queue OPR, and now it's absolute cancer as a solo player. Back capping is not feasible anymore because a 5 stack premade will just show up instantly and stop it. Also, the ambush style game play has disappeared because it's no longer feasible to ambush someone on a mount because even if you do dismount them, they fly 10 meters ahead and aren't within range to attack.

Try GW2. The base game is free and you can compete with endgame characters in pvp as early as level 2. Combat also puts new world to shame.

@@arkdesign9517 Yeah I have thousands of hours on GW2 and while it does have amazing combat. It's different than what New World offered. New World felt so much more grounded and impactful

If you want to know why the game will never improve look at scott lanes imdb page and then ask yourself why is he heading an mmo. Also as of now me watching this video it has only 5000 players in game

Weird thing is June isn’t going to be when we get it, but just the announcement of something and the game still bleeding players. I hope it’s a console release and if it is, it HAS TO BE cross play. Only thing that can help the population at this point. I hope things turn around. As I said at the end, if not dead, it’s in life support :(

Man I so want to enjoy this game, I’ve installed and uninstalled it repeatedly. For me the crafting is broken (everyone can do everything), economy is broken, spawning of enemies boring AF, but mostly I can not buy into the initial story line, I don’t want conquistadors and fantasy, I just can’t make the jump. This travels into gear looking dumb and muskets IMO have never had a place in a fantasy MMO (hi WoW boys and GW2). Let’s see how many more times I install, uninstall before Ashes comes out looking for something this game just doesn’t deliver despite it being beautiful with great combat.

@@Nyce-Gaming I think that’s their only saving grace at this point in time… doing a whole reborn like ff14 might be a stretch. But yeah their numbers have just been going down. At one point it did look like it was going to recover and have a stable player base but 7-8k… even fallout 76 has more peeps lol. But the mounts need to be in the base game in their f2p model

The major problem is nyce you would have loved the pvp game it was before they killed it. I enjoyed the launch but territory wars siege runs all gone. They gave us this pve watered down horse dung. It then continued to kill itself with everything you said here. It's far past time we talk about Penance and where games should go but I get it, it's not what gatekeepers oh I mean streamers do. Streamers need a new model because this blockade you build for yourselves doesnt make sense. There will be a moment when some streamers go wait that guy was in my chats and commented on my videos but the window will have past for those people. As a brand new start up studio I find it hilarious I can go and see endless hate for the evil in games today and then you line up promote and buy it. I am staying very nice to those whom support but streamers and the public are teaching lessons. I have learned them and yes it causes some jade but its reality. At this point my level of respect for the people in the industry is a all time low and I mean all of them. Streamers all of them. Corporations will continue to milk you and treat you this way cause you endorse it with your wallets and attention.

@@Nyce-Gaming I said it was a wonderful pvp game before amazon got its hooks into it and you would have loved it more. You compare in videos all over the place as to source your opinion. I did the same and the problem is I believe in a product and it is mine. You do not and thats 100% ok. Social media is that "Social" and the idea that all I need do is conform. I have never and would never promote hate of your opinion. I am always positive and supportive and maybe its another lesson to learn. I am critical because it is my space, my field. I am not someone watching and just playing. Self promotion and branding, as a streamer I would hope you understood. See I support you and I think YOU got talent but this in no ways means we will agree. Weather I believe your channel should blow up do to your talent and not inferior titles is a ok opinion to have. If I am a creator developer Entrepeneur I must believe and project my brand at all times. I take every game failure and every critic of games too test in my mind to know I am of a different mold.
