After reading about Brooke Shields breaking her femur and going through months of excruciating physical therapy- I'm older too like her, in my 40's- I decided not to get a Bosu ball. I use a JumpSport rebounder/ trampoline and it gives me just the right amount of instability. Also, jumping and doing a squat in between each jump for a HIIT workout, you really feel it. The only thing from this workout I see a Bosu Ball would come in handy, not causing major injury, is the plank to push ups.

I was doing a circuit by Jens Pulver for about 6 months. It was a little different than this because it was 5, 5minute sets repeated 3 times through. So, 15 pushups, 15jumping jacks, 15 dips, repeat for 5 minutes. 10burpees to clean and press, 10burpees with dumbells, 10 burpees, repeat 5 minutes. etc. 6 months and I was looking gooood, but my abs never got the workout they needed. I started alternating it with this circuit with 2 days of rest a week. We'll see how it goes.

The equipment that he is using to squat on us called a Bosu trainer. I do have clients train on it with bare feet to help strengthen the ankles/feet. I decided not to in this video because we were outside. Thx watching !

Good exercises. I would add that tracking stats is very important. Otherwise you won't know if you're improving or, if you just think you are. Perceived fatigue is a big issue with random workouts.

Certifications do help you in terms of getting "respected" by certain businesses. But when it comes down to the get down, your work speaks from word of mouth. I obtained my training certification from the NCSF.org. They rank fourth in this poll of elite certifications. I recommend the certification becuase it optimizes your vocabulary and it enlightens you on the physiological aspects, Functional aspects, and many more things we often overlook when we're training. Best of luck chief!

Love the body-weight squats on the bosu for both balance and stabilizers, but is it better or worse with the shoes as opposed to barefoot? Wouldn't barefoot better simulate cage conditions?

There are certifications out there for MMA do you think obtaining one will get you a job as a trainer or assistant in a MMA center? I have 25 years in and out of martial arts training and my own research, looking to get in the game as a trainer. Should I get a Ace, Nasm , etc, certification instead. I am in my 50's and have studies a few martial arts and was a competitor in full contact in the past. I've taught judo and karate, now I am all MMA with street application, meaning no rules.

I've done workouts a lot harder than this even after the 4 rounds, but it seems pretty good I'm surprised the workout didn't use more resistance, but that close to fight heavier training would tax a fighter cns,
