The type of standing arm locks that I always hear don’t work. Clearly seems to have worked here, and at a high level of mma at that.

What is your lifestyle such that you "always" hear these kinds of things don't work? I don't tend to hang out with stupid people. Maybe you could offer to show them how it doesn't work?

they work if you crank on them like a psycho, they don't if you do them controlled,it's a dick move in my book
Brutal.
This technique deserves a much better breakdown. It's a description of the sequence, not a breakdown of the technique. You don't mention for example, how Aoki places his foot on the inside of his opponent's leg before spinning, which is important to get maximum rotation.
I feel like it's an unspoken rule that in Boxing/MMA/Wrestling, straight up intentionally snapping limbs is just not okay. Am I wrong for thinking that or what? If it was a legitimate accident then I guess but I'm not sure about this incident particularly
Its all about the shift in the body, its fucking beautiful
man that is definitely an arm breaker for those who arent ready for it....for control you can use it if you want to just drag someone but then you wouldnt pop your hips on the turn....if you pop your hips on the turn with explosiveness and that person isnt ready for it....it'll look just like that what happened to Aoki's opponent. brutal ouch
the opponent left his arm hanging low and gave the opportunity, should have been up by the shoulder

He allowed him to cusp his hand and then soften him before ripping his arm away
Brilliant and nasty.
Esta pelea está buena. Muy vigilada
Heard the snap 😮

Bret Johns Calf Slicer is a thing of beauty (especially since he counter a single leg with it) but once he went up the ranks he has not hit the move since ... it is personally my favorite submission , as it was really cool

these are the staning types locks from Karate Jutsu Japanese Jujitsu, Aikido, Aki Jujitsu ... really nice ... a back up would be Tani Otoshi (Valley Drop) if you did not get this right away or clear and back to striking

im sitting here like, this is why in aikido many moves the people just take a wide low walk in a circle.

I use this in randori all the time in tomiki aikido. The thing is you do it slow enough to give your partner time to tap. If you do it too fast or forcibly it'll break his arm.
