    Great how to for taking it apart and a low budget solution for putting it back together. While putting it back together I replaced the PCV gasket, all of the cover fasteners that include old gaskets ($6 * 14), used an inch pound driver for the PCV plate and torqued new fasteners to 10nm with a 3/8s drive torque wrench.

    Great vid. I have only two suggestions. 1) Apply a thin film of motor oil to the new gasket before/while installing. I like to do this for anything made of silicone. 2) The valve cover screws need to be torqued to 10Nm in a specific sequence as laid out in the Bentley guide. You can google for the sequence if you don't have the manual.

    Usually blue smoke means you’re burning oil due to an oil leak somewhere. I can’t truly say but it could be valve seals, pistons, Litterally so many things. I don’t want to lead you in the wrong direction so I’m not gonna be able to help unfortunately im sorry

    would getting the gasket by its self make a difference? or would i also need to purchase a whole new valve cover ?? been having some rough idle issues going to replace the pcv first along with the breather hose, but before jumping into getting a whole new valve cover id like to try getting a new gasket first, im just not sure if i should get the entire valve cover as well

  • @RatchetWrenches

    @RatchetWrenches

    Juan Olivas I’d try with a gasket first because you could have a small cut/slit in the gasket that could cause a air flow coming into which would end up with a roughness because it’s unwanted air

    gener Luna gener Luna well I deleted the pcv and replaced it with a block off plate which requires you to delete the one hose. And keep one. It changes the flow. And with the block off plate It comes with a plug for the manifold. So you plug it. You can put boost lines to it so you can hook up a boost gauge
