The hose on bottom is for any liquid to drain instead of pool up in the bottom of the air box

According to Unitronic, not all Ea211 1.4 Jettas have that apparatus for the mini filter. On some models, they're equipped with a secondary air pump to assist with cold starting. My jetta did not have this, so Unitronics told me to just forget about it.

No I have APR stage one and have had zero problems at all.

Will this intake fit on a 2022 jetta sport with the 1.5t engine? Nobody makes one for the car yet and the engines appear to be identical other than 1.4 vs 1.5.

it would not fit its a different engine size would not recommend buying one and finding it wont fit just wait till they make one for the 1.5

Don't Listen to Snowbank, Just buy it and try it. I have a 1.4t jetta with this intake and my girl has a 1.5t taos and the engines look identical.

Currently deciding between unitronic and ECS air intakes, thanks for the install video. Def useful information. Also, what size wheels do you have, and did you notice any issues with rubbing?

@dnice362 i didn't buy it because there was no attachment for the BOV hose, and i didn't want to interfere with any engine cooling effects by removing the flap on the stock air duct. I got an AEM and i love it. I can actually hear the engine for rev matching by ear

So I forgot to pull the negative terminal and now I have a bunch of dash lights. They went away after driving it but my ECU reading keeps saying “system low voltage”. Any thoughts? Any insight is very much appreciated.

I just ordered the cold air intake from UNITRONIC for my 2019 Jetta S but did not see an baby filter in the kit🥺.it’s the UNITRONIC 1.4TSI EA211 GEN 2 INTAKE kit.

Weird. I'm almost wondering if it's even necessary. I'm looking at their website and it doesn't list the smaller filter on the hardware included in the kit. I would contact Unitronic and double check with them though.

Hey I got a 2019 jetta SEL How did that airfilter work out?

Why change a filter per se its far the engine and its inside the case?? In that case you only change high flow filter but not all intake because its a cold air on stock.

Was there any noticeable increase in horse power after adding cold intake?

If you have a turbo in your engine, installing a CAI will reduce airflow resistance which makes the engine an turbo work less to suck their air. It doesn't really give a huge boost in itself (10hp) but it helps your other components do a better job. Also it sounds pretty cool.

For those two mods, you won't need a tune. Once you install a downpipe though... It shall be time. 😎

U don’t need a tune for a down pipe on these cars either 🤦‍♂️. Honestly though unless u rolling in a gli u wasting your money as the max you’ll ever get from these cars are 210 whp. U can’t attach a bigger turbo as the engine can’t handle it.

@@camjron she has a Jetta it doesn’t need a down pipe for a stage 2. I have a 2017 Jetta stage 2 tune with just a cai and performance muffler. Vw forums say the same thing I am

Increased horsepower, better gas mileage, and nicer sound are the top benefits. I mostly did it for the little turbo flutter noises you get.

@@aib150 I think the power would be nice, but I have heard the stock clutches on the MK7 Jettas are paper thin and don't support more power/torque super well. Idk about the automatic transmissions. That's the only real complaint I've heard about these specific vehicles.

@@aib150 dsg trans can handle 450wtq on stock clutch packs. Stage 2 and up needs a TCU tune to increase clamping pressure though
