Gosh dangit I accidentally said “Mega Man Ten” again. 🤬☺️

Ahhh…. I blame Apple for that. iPhone X. Thanks Russ for the review! I like the screen narrow bezels and trigger placements but sucks on the stock firmware performance n the sleep mode implementation. Almost got the purchase button halfway into the review.

Back when MMX came out, I was sure the Megamen 7-9 would still be on the NES, because, well, X is ten, right? In hindsight, I wasn't too far of, 7 was on the SNES, 8 and 9, kindasorta on the NES.... :D

Start showing Mega Man X2 then? It’ll probably be less likely you’ll say “Mega Man Ten 2” 😂

It's unbelievable how comfortably you can fit this much information into a video. It's well-scripted, well-edited, informationally dense without feeling like an info dump. No dead air, like while timing the boot up you're still telling us about the device instead of just making us watch a timer in the corner. Just the perfect balance between informational and engaging. I subscribed after watching like two videos a few months ago and I'm glad I did. Keep up the excellent content, my man.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I'm finding that it's taking me longer and longer to do these videos, but I am much more proud of the final product. There is a bit of dead air in this video on purpose, though; when comparing the bootup/gameplay/power-down of the 280V/Mini, I decided to just leave the 10 seconds of utter silence while waiting for the Miyoo Mini navigation, so it would speak for itself :)

I disagree. That old intro song meant business.
Please, please do an update once the community releases an improved firmware! I can live with the screen if most of the other downsides are fixed. Thank you as always for such great videos!
I've been binge-watching your videos and every time, your reviews are far better and more comprehensive and answer a lot more of the questions I have. I have yet to buy my first handheld emulator as I only recently started researching today but plan to do so in the next couple days thanks to your videos. Nice work!
Love the intro🔥.Honestly the look of the display grabs me i cant lie. It's nice , it's simple, easy to pop in your pocket, and functional. Im cool with the price and for such a price I know what to expect. An awesome little way to pay homeage to the old DMG. Thanks for another awesome breakdown and guide bro👍🔥
This was the review I was waiting for... Ordered 1 from the 2° batch, can't wait to receive it! Great work as usual Russ!
I really like the retro-styled visuals you've recently added in the intro and in the screen transitions. The device is really nice btw, wish it was a bit more powerful.
New intro is great! I appreciate the softer tone. It’s not as jarring. Great choice!
Just got mine today and updated the firmware. Adjusting the gamma on the screen has been a game changer. It looks on par with any quality IPS display now.

This channel is right on point. There's a lot of people creating content around retro handhelds, and each have their unique style, but RGC is where it's at for in depth, quality reviews, tips on system setup, and honest discussions around the real pros and cons of a device which are often skipped over by other reviewers. I was almost sold on the Myoo Mini before I saw this review, the device is great for the price but just short of the mark. Either way, another fantastic video! Top drawer content my friend!

Love the new intro! I was ready to hear the usual one and this was a fun surprise
Love the new music/intro! I really like the form factor of the OG Pocketgo and I wish they would make a more powerful version in the same shell. I think they really nailed the retro look, as you pointed out, with this and the pocketgo.
I really happy you did a review on this! Thanks as always for your insightful retro-wisdom :)
Thanks for the review! I ordered a 280v for my pocketable device right before the Miyoo came out and was starting to get FOMO but after seeing your honest review I think I'll stick with 280v. Appreciate all the hard work you do

Can you confirm to me if you can display a SNES game pixel perfect at 1x filling almost all thr screen? I've been reading articles(and here too) the vertical pixels have half size in comparison to its widith. Because if it is really a 256x224 SNES game on a 320x480, it would be almost full width but only half of the height. I'm considering getting the RG280V but I can only stand pixel perfect, no filters.

I wanan buy a pocketable device that plays N64 and Gameboy Advance games. Still cannot make up my mind.
13:29 lol at the Zaxxon title being upside down. love the attention to detail you put into your videos.
I love the new intro! Chicken wants a pawheld that lets her play with both paws 😻. Have been waiting for your review of the Miyoo Mini, thank you for showing the haziness of the screen and comparing the scaling with the RG300X and RG280V. Thank you so much for going into detail about sleep mode and navigation of the system! I like how pocketable and ergonomic it is but not sure I want one since the screen is hazy and gaming performance for GBA isn't really great, may get a RG280V.
That new intro is straight 🔥🔥🔥 Gonna pick one of these up when I can. Love the RG280V But this form factor is a big improvement imo
It's so interesting to me the design choices being made (duplicating ROM folders) and how easy it is to fix it. Thanks for the video! I did gift my kiddos the RG280V, but this looks really neat!
Love the new intro! It's so seamless I didn't even notice it at first
As always, your transparency comes through, and we all thank you for that! I really don't know any other youtuber that is as honest, complete and reliable as you.
New intro and keep up pushing the limits with all these handhelds!
I love the new intro. It fits perfectly with your channel
Well done on another excellent video. Screen does look hazy in the video, I think that's the best description for it. It looked ok in some of the games you showed off.
Gonna miss the old intro but this new one is great too
I like the new intro ☺️ it’s not that I didn’t like the last one but it was a bit jarring. This one is a lot better of a transition to the videos. I am also a huge fan of this type of form factor. It fits well in my hands and does the job for the games I enjoy ☺️
That track track is amazing. Groovy funky just overall great selection. Maaaaaaddd cool points. And your content is always fire. I’m working on retroarch for my vita 2000 right now!

I was about to buy this console but i waited for this review to be decided! I think i'll buy the pocketgo s30. Thanks for your honest and detailed reviews.
I saw another review of this about a week ago and it seemed really nice but they're currently out of stock. Like you said, for the price it seems really good, and it's quite nice how small it is. If they fix some of the firmware and performance issues and still keep it at the same price, this is definitely the portable console I'll consider buying in the near future. I have a feeling that price will go up though. Anbernic does seem to have a better device but at a mich higher price point. Thanks for the thorough review 👍
Love this format. Hope they are able to release a more powerful version, as flawless SNES is a necessity for me.
Thank you, Russ. Love the form factor, love the absence of bezels, love the Dpad. Not a big fan of everything else, unpleasantly surprised by the screen, it looks really good on camera, but I trust ur judgement.
Thx I loved your new opening song Russ 😀
Glad I watched this review. I almost bought one but now I'm waiting a bit. The other videos I watched on this device didn't show the limitations as well this video did and no one mentioned the screen issue. PS1 problems aren't a deal breaker but having trouble with Gameboy and SNES games makes me want to wait and see if later firmware and retroarch core updates help out. Does this have any problems with genesis/megadrive games? 21:00 Whoa! The sleep function doesn't actually put the device to sleep?! With the term "sleep function" I would expect it to suspend the game and operations. Not just turn off the screen and sound. I wish other reviews would have mentioned that!
I've wanted an upgraded BittBoy for so long, and the Miyoo Mini being even smaller is great! Wish the processor and RAM were more/stronger, but still anxiously awaiting my delivery

There's no need for extra power, it just needs some software optimization, bittboy v90&co do wonders on ps1 and gba with the custom firmware. And this machine has an higher resolution which would really cover the weakness related to scaling on some systems.
@NotHeresrsly

@@V3Efreet I mean, sure - but I always prefer some extra 'clearance' - and all these chips aren't exactly cutting edge, you know? It can make the difference between running that One game you want to play, and just never being able to play it (or at an 'enjoyable' level)

For $50 it’s actually quite powerful. The 280v is $80 and the build quality on the m mini is nicer. Idk how they’re selling it for $50. The screen might not be as good but I like the bezels
LOVE the design of Miyoo Mini! It looks so comfortable and portable. Few improvements and it will be the best of the best in mini form factor!! Wish good luck to developers!
Nice intro Russ. We humans are strange are ones. Back in the day when VHS got auto tracking, we were happy to not have to deal with it anymore. Fastforward to current times and we are emulating what we once thought as an inconvenience when watching videos.
I love the form factor on this one. I didn't want to have a bunch of handhelds, my parter got me the 351mp for Christmas, but II might have to pick this up because I think I would just enjoy using it.

F to the old intro music, you will be missed. New title theme/beginning bgm is groovy though 👌
Oh wow I love the new intro! Super cool
Love the new intro clip. Much less aggressive to my senses.
The new intro is so good!
love the new intro. reminds me of the old crt tvs
I can't help but think that this device would do wonders with a bit more of memory and power, just a tiny lil bit. Still, I'm super curious to see what will ppl do with it, as I was also unimpressed with RG351's firmware and how it runned some things, and now is my top handheld ever. Epic video and great job. You rock man ^^

Yeah… There is ALWAYS some kind of compromise with these devices. It’s too bad, but no American manufacturers seem to be interested in creating portable retro game consoles that aren’t Raspberry Pi-based. So we take what we can get from Asia with all the compromises here and there!
I don't know if it was due to my comment that you changed the intro, but thank you nonetheless, this intro music is less harsh and far better in my opinion.
Taki sold me on this as a street fighter handheld. This thing better make me so good that I can charge partition anything into anything. Thanks for the great overview! PS I like old intro.
LOVE your new intro!
Good video the new intro song is far better than the old one
Yooo was waiting for this! Mine is on its way from China! Hype!
I just ordered mine from keepretro yesterday. Can't wait for it to get to me
Great! Will save this video and watch again when my device arrives
Hi Russ, I wonder if there would be interest for a video comparing your best/worst experiences with specific parts of retro handhelds. For example: best buttons, d-pad, UI, etc. You could totally make them 'top 5' for sick clicks too 👍💯 Personally, I want to see a run down of d-pad quality/feel. Keep up the good stuff.
Nice and smooth new intro!!!
i'm digging that new intro and the fade in outro. i feel like chvrches is about to sing.
I like your pace. Fast but not rushed.
I just placed this little beauty on my list of wants😃👾those buttons are to cry for!
Very helpful! Totally agree on the screen but when actually playing the games I don’t care. It’s just a a fun device.
That new intro is great!
Much better intro. I don't need to bother to turn volume down

Oooh... nifty new intro. I like it, although I think it's good at 6 seconds; no need to keep us waiting for another 4, LOL
Thanks for the review! If there's a good firmware update I hope you'll post a re-review. I think this would be quite appealing with better software
Great video! Saved it for later when I get my Miyoo mini and need to customize it until some cfw comes out. I’d also love if someone made a clear shell for it.
The full screen issue might be RGA scaling. When that's enabled on my 351V the same thing happens -- all games are maximized and no settings override it. If you have that off it should restore the proper aspect ratio.
Digging the new intro bro!!!!!!!!!!!
Mini handheld......you know i had to get it! Great vid russ!
That intro is a banger.
great video, very thorough. Damn I wish it had a proper sleep feature, that is 1 thing that annoys me about most handhelds. You can't just pick it up and play and put it down for a few minutes.
Great Review as usual, love your no nonsense style. From what you've said, it feels like the V90 is a better mini device?
Goddamn this content is so good! SO GRATEFUL of your channel
Even though the beige one isn't really DMG colored, I still want it, I think it looks rad.
Great review. Thanks a bunch.
An overall good review. But I must say some of your criticisms would be considered nitpicking by other reviewers.
The new intro/ music fits your channel better
video: Would you like to change the intro? russ: Yeah, man, I want to do it!
Just purchased the same miyoo waiting for a couple days to arrive
I'm sure a lot of people are going to be really happy with this device when they get it. To me, it highlights how the RG280V could be improved so immensely if the shoulder buttons were better placed, IMO they should be in the very middle of the back of the screen, L2 & R2 slightly raised and on top of L1 & R1. I do hope a revision like that comes in time.
