The mic definitely matters. Her mic sounds like it kind of creates double voice. She was totally fine without it but I think that was just what she was given. It's not like western artists can always choose their mic that it works for them.

clearly she is nervous cause she knows any drama or movie awards like this dont use autotune. literally singing live vocal even with backup vocals. Better sing live even sounds so nervous, she still sounds just fine. rather than live singing sounds real bad & lipsync most of time but overhyped and win daesang as best singer.

I was expecting a trainwreck from what I had read and I come across a performance of someone who was clearly nervous from head to toe, but GOT IT TOGETHER. As singers, we get nervous and we might not peform at our best when it happens, but she performed a lot better than I would've had I been in her shoes. Besides, it's always delighful to see Miyeon showing why she is (G)I-DLE's main vocalist.

This is probably the first time I’ve seen someone from this gen sing live LIVE. Not everyone can do this. This may not be perfect for you but you did really well Miyeon!

Idk if it’s her first time but imo she did really well. This was her first time performing in front of so many actors so I get why she was nervous. I probably have terrible hearing musically bc for me this performance sounded amazing. She was a little shaky at times but other than that she did so well

I think Miyeon performs quite good voice control, even the sound on the broadcast live stage is pure real voice (not hear any effect, even reverb), The song structure itself has many parts that are key shifting that are very easy to off the tune for inexperienced vocalists. Miyeon did great! 👏👏👏

i actually think this is a super nice performance... like yes she's obviously nervous, yes you can hear it in her voice, but i feel like it added to the emotion of the song. it's not a technically perfect rendition but it adds like a human-ness to it

Came to see the performance because of hearing about hate comments. There is certain way the voice shakes when someone is nervous. It's involuntary, a physical response to psychological stress. I can hear it here. There's also the added stress of hearing yourself, knowing it's not right, then that doubles the stress and affects your performance. Being on stage, looking out over the audience and feeling the immensity of all the people focused solely on you is a lot to process. I've experienced it. She did well considering. Bravo. Fighting. All those haters could never.

Thank you, Miyeon, not just for your wonderfull performance, but for proving, once again, that 99% of kpop fans have no clue about how great live vocals are supposed to sound. The worst you could say about it is is that she wasnt as assured as she would have been were she not nervous, but the way she uses EVERYTHING to bend her sound to what she needs, at every moment... IT is a thing of beauty. This sounds like somebody not doing as well as she wanted, not somebody doing even remotely bad. Her phrasing and emoting are exemplary. Her musicality truly inspiring. She sacrifices some intonation (probably beacuse of nerves) but makes up for it with emotion that feels real. Most of you wouldnt say shit if the internet hadnt told you before. This is a SINGER showing you how its done when things are not in your favor and you are missing the point. Kpop stans are the absolute pit. They have such an inferiority complex about their favourite singers being called fake puppets of big companies instead of artists that they are obsessed with live singing while knowing aboslutely nothing about how the human voice even works. If i never ever hear another dumbass kpop stan mention support, one of the few terms about technique that they think they understand (spoiler allet: they dont), or nonsensical stuff about support range, I will be a happy man.

When everyone turns to be a good critiques like they know how to sing. Justifying that "they heard the original song", like they don't make mistakes.

all i am saying is. sis performed with 0 to no backtrack and without auto tune, but this is a bad performance? nerves affect your breathing which will affect your singing and honestly, this performance just shows that idols are not perfect AND THAT IS OKAY! I appreciate her raw live here, because hearing the off pitch moments or even the breathing and switching between head voice/chest voice is so satisfying. it lets me know i am getting a real live performance and not one curated to reinforce perfect "live" singing.
