Dear Subhendu, Your talk was excellent. One of the best talks on Miyawaki. Your work on creating urban forests across India is exemplary and the future generations will thank you for it. Congratulations and best of luck. Hope, the government takes your services more often. Will definitely visit your forest patch in Hyderabad.

I know that the Miyawaki forest method instructs that the trees should be planted 1 meter apart. This might produce a rapid forest, however I don't think the trees would be able to grow to full size because it simply is not enough room for their trunks to expand their girth. Has anyone experimented conducting a Miyawaki method when spreading the plants further than 1 meter apart?

This is a resemblence to permaculture design method. Do plan something for common small scale farmers looking into the economic aspects also. Best Wishes

Yes, we are doing this right now, in Chirala, Andhra, 1.25 acres as a demo & more later ; then next 3 days in Pune, MH. It's lovely to see these trees grow so fast & they inspire everyone who witnesses these natural forests ! Check out forrest-india.org for more details on other possibilities.
