Poor George must get a very bad back from all that knob twiddling! Really interesting pro mixing in action.

Maybe that is a subbass speaker, for listening to bass properly.

You've been in there for 9 years? Dont leave mate. The outside world is now infested with dog filters and Tik Tok.

Seems odd to me that at Abbey Road, of all places, they would be using a fairly bog-standard SSL board and a rack of pretty standard - albeit incredibly high-quality - outboard gear. When you consider that the studio made its name in large part by developing and building much of its own equipment - most of which is now sold in plugin form - it's a bit disappointing that they seemed to have given up on design and innovation of audio gear and have joined the rest of the studio world in buying existing equipment. Begs the question - what makes Abbey Road unique anymore, apart from its past?....

I think this is a private studio set up, within Abbey Road? You can see the live room for Studio 2 set up with band equipment, at the beginning of the video. The control room for Studio 2 looks VERY different to that one. And then there's Studio 1 which is used a lot for big orchestras, although they do record orchestras in Studio 2 as well. A lot of film music is recorded there too. Got to record there myself quite a lot, and the studios where always being used. They also have the mastering side of the studio too

I think you're underestimating Abbey Road, they've got many rooms and even a Studio D room like this one is at a very high standard both in quality and hardware.

What sets Abbey Road apart? Well, I guess all their other control rooms, their recording spaces, their professionalism, their expertise and history of passing that expertise on to their junior engineers, etc. More or less the same things that set other great studios apart. I mean, just a wild guess.

So this is a teaser for a video that I could watch if I got the magazine. Well, I thought I'd check out the offer. The page is loaded with annoying ads. The offer to purchase the magazine is obscured. There's a subscription offer as well. There are no system requirements given. Somewhere I read that the audio masterclass doesn't come with the download. This is all so confusing and annoying. I give up. Sorry. No sale.
