I have a small business called Buckler Consulting…I came across the term when reading the Bible. I did some research and fell in love with the style of shield as well💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

This was so good! I love how in depth you went with the subtle differences with the weapons. So many of these kinds of videos tend to just skip that bit.

I really like dagger in strong hand vs sword and sheild. Usually ends with a downward angle neck stab. The best.

Can you guys also do a video on how sword & buckler fighting changed through the ages? From i33 all the way to the Bolognese tradition?

Any one handed sword with a dagger just seems like the way to go. More parry options and it can be used as another means of stabbing

Your last few videos have had somewhat annoying sound mixing. The music is much much too loud when compared to speech volume. It would be great if one wouldn't need to turn the volume up and down all the time. But thank you for great content nonetheless!

Hi. So sorry about this. The Adobe software we use for video editing plays the sound perfectly before we upload and then when we put it on youtube the sound gets adjusted the way you're describing. We are going to have a strategy meeting to try and fix it. Thank you for the comments. it does help greatly considering none of us do sound editing professionally and we're kind of learning on the fly so this kind of criticism is very important

@@stephenkime5946 i am a Professional Sound Engineer and i would like to help. If there are some issues with volume correction, it might help to upload a video on private, and then check for discrepancies. i also believe there is a preview mode before uploading in adobe so you can check it there. Depending on the source and sound setup with mics, it may also be a render issue when uploading to youtube. i hope that helps.

@@seraphielvoneinem2961 Thank-you so much. This does help a lot. I cannot promise all will be good on the next upload but we will certainly take your advice and see if we can improve the sound quality. again Thankyou very much

When you displace his sword with your dagger after trapping it, why does his buckler also move down? Seen at 1:50. This makes no sense, you are only pushing the sword not the bucker. The buckler should stay to impeade your sword.

It is even worse the other way around. When he moves your sword with his buckler your dagger goes down with it asif he was controlling both.

@@irhtirht they're just showing the riposte, not the defense. If each person responded logically to the threat like they would in sparring, we'd be looking at a 2 hour breakdown video of a 2 person kata, which is just impractical for everybody involved.

@@DubiousDubs Good point. But they are not just, not moving to defend, they are actively moving the buckler downwards to help the opponents attack, instead of just leaving it in place and not defending.
