I am an artist with many classes under my belt and much artwork stored in my house which tips. You are an excellent teacher about the techniques that make glazing pottery work. I am writing a story and needed to be reminded of what glaze before firing looks like. My thanks.

Would recommend making bigger tiles next time. Gives you a better idea of how the glaze will look over a bigger surface. Though, based on your more recent video, looks they turned out great regardless!

This is so great, exiting and just on time for me 😍😍! Thank you for sharing! I just bought my first 200gr dry glaze. So if my math is correct (5pounds=2269gr, 4pints=1892,7ml), then I need to mix my 200gr of dry glaze with 160ml distilled water. Pls someone check my math 🤪

Where did u get your glaze powder ?

I thought it was necessary to run a newly mixed glaze through a sieve before it’s used? Do you have clumps of dried glaze in the bucket? Or maybe just mixing with the drill incorporates the glazes well enough? If sieving is not needed that will save me a lot of time and labor.

I reallllly hope you aren’t firing this kiln each time with only the rest tiles! The colors are going to be different than if you actually had a full load in the kiln.

Using bottled water sure does make a difference!! You will get mold if you use tap water!

That is not true. Mold does not grow in glaze. The reason why some people use distilled water is because there is calcium in hard water. Theoretically it could flux the glaze a little more (calcium is a flux) but the amount of calcium is peanuts. You won't notice any difference.
