Oh great I finally get to see Rolo - cute:) My mum's mother committed suicide when she was 3 weeks old, her father killed himself the dad after my mum's mother got married to my grandfather, my mother's brother was 10. Anyway the point of this is to say that my mother feels worse about all of this as she gets older - she was raised by her aunty who couldn't have children of her own and is 97 with dementia in a nursing home and mum feels extra guilty as she 'took' mum in. I don't think she will ever get over her situation or understand it. I feel sad for you because once a person is dead there's no concrete answer to any questions or feelings you have and not to feel "wanted' or worth knowing, is something that will never leave your mind, I just wish you have some peace sometimes and that you take comfort in the relationship with your sister. My dad is adopted and now, in his 70's, he is still trying to process it sometimes. As a young man, he joined the military and volunteered to go to Germany where he was born in hopes of contacting his mother or some of his family. It breaks my heart to know that he feels like there is something broken with his life that he really has no way of fixing.

Very sad, but your outlook is always so positive. You were definitely meant to be born, never doubt 😊 I'm so glad that you at least are able to know your sister!

Well Ali, I am very sorry for your loss, because- it is your loss too. Maybe you didn't know him enough to mourn him in the traditional sense, but you could be mourning that "missed opportunity", as you put it. You may not have known him directly, but you did always hear about him and at the end of the day he was your brother; So your feelings are completely valid and reasonable to have. Granted, I've never been in your position but- I empathize greatly and I'm sending you all the love in the world

Hi Ali sorry to hear about you're brother find it hard that he rejected the chance to meet you how sad he lost out on meeting a lovely sister maybe its better you didn't meet and you saved yourself a lot of pain sometimes family are not all you expect them to be whether you adopted or not.so carrying on being you and put that cookie down it's not the answer .
