Again I gotta say, it's so nice and upscale (but with lower prices!) back home there in Hawaii than where I am now in the San Jose, California area. We have a Mituswa's but it's kind of run down, and the fish dept. smells which really surprises me for a Japanese market. I can hardly wait to get back home.

This doesn't look at all like the International Marketplace we always want to for a quick bite to eat and bought t~shirts etc, probably nice for you but I liked the more down to earth openness I remember. Very commercial now.

Waikiki is certainly not what it used to be…but we have learned a new way to enjoy as it is still our favourite…there is really nothing for us at this market, but we found new things last year.

I agree. It's just another suburban upscale mall now. I miss a lot of my old favorite spots that have been bulldozed to make way for a lot of glass/chrome new-look spaces. I don't blame them because that's how things work commercially but we old timers like the things that worked for us.
