I always put a plastic bag over any hoses near the oil filter, with a disposable cloth over the plastic that absorbs any spilled oil. It saves on clean up, and keeps my floor clean

Is that a gls v?

Do we have to start the engine, then check the oil level? Other than after draining it away. Or just check it in the morning before it starts (engine cold)

What is the dimension/size of the oil sump drain plug? I was thinking of replacing it with EZ drain ball valve for easy draining.

Good idea, just have to make sure the handle doesn't vibrate open or install a plug on the end of the ball valve

wouldn't you rather the dealer to do it for 300 dollars there is a 16 year old apprentice ready to overfill your oil and leave your engine cover bolts loose .

100% I caught a Mitsubishi dealer red handed draining half my oil before putting the sump plug back, swapping the filter and topping off the oil. They really should make sure the customer is not standing there watching and then trying to charge $650 for a full service for ~5 minutes work.
