Description
High condensate level in the drip tray.
Cause
Float switch activated by high water level.If unit has a drain sensor then the resistance of the drain sensor has changed due to being immersed in water.
Check Procedure
Check water level in the drip tray and check to see if the float switch is closed circuit. If unit has a drain sensor then check the resistance of the drain sensor.
Technical Support Notes
Do not assume the drain pump is faulty because more often than not they are ok. The most common cause of P5 fault is the drain line/drip tray being blocked which is causing the water to back up. Clean drains out and then reboot the power to the outdoor to clear the fault, the pump runs constantly in cooling mode.
