I dont think this is what any of the people who wrote the bible expected to happen when it was written but this is unironically amazing

this is such a beautiful take of their relationship and is so intricately beautiful its just gorgeous. a lot of the comments are people making jokes and missing the point, and im sure this is somewhat satire on its own, but viewed in a vacuum outside of people commenting “lol XDD” it still exists as a very touching and emotional piece of artwork that takes their relationship to a deeper level than what most people make/throw jokes about

i adore everything about this. i was raised in the roman catholic church and i think my biggest issue with the church is the dehumanization of biblical figures. yes, jesus was the son of god and the way i was raised we were taught to view them as one in the same, but i find it much more meaningful to view jesus as a man, a human with human feeling and thoughts. I often find myself wondering if he was scared or even sad because of the things predetermined for him. He was just a child who had the literal weight of the world on his shoulders. Do you think he mourned the life he could of had? i also think of judas, and the way he lived, or rather died, to regret betraying jesus. did he truly want to betray him, did he really of the gift of free will in doing that. the most gut wrenching aspect of their story is the kiss. judas betrayed jesus through such a loving and intimate gesture, why would he do that if his betrayal was out of hate. you portrayed them perfectly, the pain in judas' eyes was so accurate. this truly embodied the almost "forced" nature of judas' betrayal. beautiful depiction of this story, each characters' expressions were so moving. thank you for making and sharing this.

but isnt that the point of his whole existence according to the bible? hes a god he doesnt feel anxiousness or sadness or anything he just wants wants best for the people. im pretty sure thats the whole reason why hes being praised.

No because I'm thinking about the fact that Jesus HAD to die on that cross, he HAD to be betrayed. Did Judas try to justify it to himself? When he kissed Jesus did he think "If not me then who else?" Did Jesus forgive him in that moment because he knew it had to be done? How does free will exist if some events are predetermined? ARG IM NOT EVEN RELIGIOUS BUT THIS HITS

Bro, the quality here is just *chefs kiss* pardon my language but-so fucking good? I also love your song choice for the pairing (may be biased because I'm an avid Mitski listener bsjejns) and your artwork is divine. I love the textured line work, the way you draw expressions, and your stylization. I really dig Judas' expression at 1:39. Also, when Judas kissed Jesus to betray him, I think I cried internally. You can't do this to me 😭😭😭. You deserve so many more likes, bro no cap no printer. I appreciate you including "Jesus x Judas" in the title because without it, I would not have discovered this masterpiece (I searched for Jesus x Judas content because I was listening to "lower one eye" covered by Will Stetson way too many times and knew it was based on Osamu Dazais' short bible fiction, so I was like fuck I need more of this shit). BRO WHAT A COINCIDENCE So I only read the top part of this comment before yesterday THEN I watched another cover of this song by Trickle which linked to an English translation today , then I came back to recommend that story to you 💀 I'm honestly now starving for more of this type of (angst? I'm Jewish so I'm not very familiar with the story of Christ but if Biblical stories were structured like this I would definitely have an easier time learning about them, since though very interesting it's difficult to get a grasp on the narrative. I would love to see a rendition of the story of Passover from Exodus in this style of storytelling, which is my favorite story from The Torah

Why is this making me like actually sob? Oh my gosh. Watched this cause I was confused that this was a thing and I thought it'd be silly and fun but then... it's perfect? The more I allowed myself to fall into it the more it made me realise so many things. I've been debating being involved in the christian community and I honestly think you've convinced me? It was all written, and I think the point is that even though Judas knew he was 'not a star' (as Mitski beautifully puts) he knew Jesus wanted him there and knew his life had purpose with him. So human. So raw. You may have straight up converted a guy at 3 past midnight. Thank you.
