I have one doubt for long time where ever i study they say that mitral stenosis because of rheumatic fever presents at adult age. even though she/ he had rheumatic fever like symptoms 10 years back they might come very late . My question is we all study the symptoms of rheumatic fever anyway if someone has sore thort and joint sweeling they will defenitely come to hospital and one screening test can be Aso and then we treat it then why complication occurs as mitral stenosis? May be misdiagnosed or people not following treatment or what? Even repeted attacks they will have symptoms like erthyma marginatum or migratary joint sweeling with sore thoart why cant they can be treated early and given prophylaxis.?

In yesterday session sir gave explanation to this as unlike other valvular diseases which shows symptoms earlier, MS has much slower course of progression and hence it will be already late on presentation when it becomes symptomatic

@@drstrange8079lets say that one child got sore thorat and migratory joint pain and aso positive and johs criteria positive for first time in life and child is stable what he will do tell me ? If he could do the correct treatment and prophylaxix why could the child will progress to mitral stenosis in future thats why i am asking what mistakes would have happened if a child getting mitral stenosis in future ? May be not treated well or prophylasis was not given .?or patient did not follow the treatment ?
