Mesenbrink is a legit contender for NC.

Messenbrink’s stamina and reattacks are off the chart. Fish was running on fumes and by the end of the match he didn’t have any legs left and looked like a drunk sailor. (7:07)

Messenbrink won match with high quality and volume of wrestling. Fish did get tired. But someone with Fish’s mindset and style might put Messenbrink to his back and possibly pin. Good match

Closer than the score indicates? 149 Evans isn't the starter, 174 Barraclaugh obviously not the starter. 285 Cochran not the starter. Davis won handily, Nagao the same, Bartlett match and Haines match who has been wrestling bad were close He needs to lose a match so he can get back to Haines of last year. He's wrestling not to lose. Actually 149 is the 3rd wrestler on the depth chart because Van Ness is out for the year and Kasak is sick. Other than the 2 matches I mentioned where was it close? This is Penn States best team ever and nobody will come close to them. They're so deep and have all these freshman killing it and actually at 184 I think freshman Josh Barr is better than Truax.

@@tomb4060 you’re yapping about literally nothing. While Levi Haines isn’t the person I want to win in March. Bro went through surgery on the off season instead of training. He’s bound to be a little off. As we LITERALLY just saw in michigan state he WRESTLES TO WIN and he battles for every point. This could be a more wrong take. Do I think a loss might benefit him. Yes. But he does not wrestle to “lose.” That’d be Bartlett if anything. He forgets he’s Beau Bartlett.

@@tomb4060 true, he did get caught, and true, he did overcome his error. I'm convinced he should be ranked more accurately at #5, possibly #4. 🤔 The one thing I took away from this match is that he has a nonstop motor. 😳 I believe that one fact alone is what wins championships. Puts me to mind of tomasello and omar, both studs, both built like fire hydrants. But ultimately, all that muscle requires massive oxygen. Time and again, it was apparent that if they didn't close the deal in 4-5 minutes, they were probably gonna lose due to an empty gas tank.

Most wrestlers have a mental block when they wrestle ranked opponents. Why is that?

  • @Tdinh79

Wrestling, like any combat sports- many people have that roadblock. Kids in youth wrestling all the way up to college do. I think the best ones have overcome that roadblock and become all Americans and national champions. They just go out and score points.
