I get it. I remember when Kansas got John Elefante and I thought this is different but I still like it. Steve Walsh never publicly attacked John pitting the fans against him. But Steve Walsh has class. :) I get some hate but I don’t mind as I knew it was coming when I took the gig. I get more hate from the VH fans for not being Dave or Sam. That’s fine. I’m Mitch Malloy. They aren’t me and I’m not them. I’m extremely confident in my ability and my voice and my showmanship. I do what I do. And because I’m simply being myself and not trying to copy anyone people can feel it’s real. Gold standard? Ok so that’s your way of saying that’s “your GW sound”. I get that. I understand that. I do NOT want to sound like anyone else. Never did never will. When I passed on the opportunity of the Chicago gig and I mentioned that they asked if I could sound like Peter Cetera to a friend she said to me “why would you want to sound like Peter Cetera when you can sound like Mitch Malloy”. :) And I thought, what a nice thing to say say. But that’s what I do. I sound like me that’s it.

When you step into someone else’s gig the comparisons are inevitable but Id never try to be like him. To try and sound like him would be extremely painful to my voice and my ears lol I just do me. :) Otherwise it’s bullshit. Gotta be real. But thanks :)

Mitch was the best thing to happen to Great White since Jack in his prime. He initially won me over by nailing that high "ee" vowel on this one, and furthermore with his super cool take on Mista Bone.

I’ve always coveted Mitch’s range and tone. There are very few voices that pure and powerful in that range. This was a fantastic match. Makes me want to visit a parallel universe where Van Halen didn’t drive him away. Nothing against Gary. But Mitch could easily pull of Dreams and nail it every time. Something even Sammy had problems with at times. Dude is fantastic.

I got see Great White in Greenville Wi two years ago. The Concert was Great White, 38 Special, and Styx. It was my first time listening to Great White. Wow! This just blew me away. No disrespect to Jack Russel but you completely owned this song in my opinion. Your pitch, your range, the command of the stage, your look. This is a flawless performance. For me It's definitely one of the greatest live performances in my opinion. As Patrick Swayze said in Road House, "Opinions vary", but this is great. I'm embarrassed to say that I had never heard about you before but you won me over with this performance!

I don't understand why he receives so much hate for being amazing? Heck, two of my favorite songs come from this man ''Anything At All'' and ''Nobody wins In This War'' He is an extremely talented vocalist, his voice is crystal clear throughout all the years he has been doing this for. It just happens that some retire and some take over, but it's not like he took over and the band is shit now? Come on, appreciate the fact that Great White is still active with an amazing frontman

I left them over a year ago. I’m used to being hated. :) It’s a badge of honor to matter that much. :) I’m also loved more intensely so it’s all good. Don’t concentrate on the negative. And thank you for enjoying my version of this band. I lasted over four years. I deserve a medal. ;)

But I dont consider myself a metal singer although if you consider Van Halen metal and you consider the Van Halen brothers opinion of my voice than maybe I am also a metal singer. And let me just say one more time how brave the band was for bringing on a voice that has very very little to do with their past voice. :) We share influences as we are the same age but That’s about it. :) Nothing against the sound alikes but I am not that. :)

The way it works is whoever owns the name is the band and it matters what you think only if you don’t show up to see them but otherwise it really doesn’t. :) So go bitch at them if it will make you feel better.
