The Mitakon 65mm f1.4 has been a lens that many GFX users have been using and impressed by, and now it's finally available for the Hasselblad X series of cameras.
I tested this lens on the all new Hasselblad X2D, and came away impressed with its vintage rendering but also the ability to resolve the 100MP sensor.

Hey Bobby, there is a lens hood included! Its on the front of the lens and needs to be unscrewed and reversed, then screwed back on. I do wish it was a "pull forward" like the actual Summilux. It's actually a lot of fun to use and definitely forces me to slow down (actually, at my age, I'm already slowing down!) and be more in the moment. Cheers!

No shutter, of course, so you are limited to the e-shutter. For critical focus, I set the push function of the rear dial to activate the EVF zoom. Works just like the Leica SL.

Indeed. I do this as well. Unfortunately sometimes without focus peaking I miss at times and others okay. Trial and error, and due to the weight of the lens, it’s a tad more difficult to hold still for a longer period of time

The unaligned aperture indicator dot (and aperture values) that are not centered with the depth of field scale is a little bothersome. So I modified mine. Love it on my GFX 50R. Freakin heavy though. Are the aperture blades really circular now? On mine, they look like straight blades that will create hexagonal bokeh balls when not on f/1.4.

Hello Bobby, I know theres know focus peeking on the X2D but there is an amazing focuse assist for manuals focusing, that just work so well with the XCD lenses. I tend to use that 90% of the time. But interesting.

Nice video. Only recently became aware there was an XCD version of the lens. The GFX version is wonderful. I had hoped, when I switched to the Hassy, that they would have eventually produce a 65 1.4 I could mount on my x1dii. Guess that time has come. As I don't shoot moving subjects, I'm hopeful this can give me the look I'm after. BTW, that shot of the Batman figurine is fantastic. There is a built-in lens hood incorporated with this lens (if it's the same as the GFX mount version), then you should be able to twist the metal ring at the front of the lens and reverse screw mount it and it will become the lens hood.
