    New to painting, have been painting this for about 7 hours now, it's turning out pretty decent. I love the way you explain everything in great detail, how calm you are, your repetition of phrases such as "don't worry about this" or "doesn't have to be perfect". It's been 7 hours but doesn't feel like it at all, time passes quickly with such a great tutorial!!

    I haven’t learnt art professionally so whenever I try to paint using acrylics I have a major issue while making the background Just by looking at real time its not even 20 minutes in the video but I’ve learnt a lot if useful tips and small processes that drastically change the outcome. Stuff like blending the paints on a palatte using a knife( I did it with the brush which I used for background) and the amount of water solves everything I’m going to continue watching the rest after my exams and try it myself Thanks a ton!

    What is the difference between blending with a knife vs. a brush?

  • @meraki9301

    @meraki9301

    5 жыл бұрын

    if you use a brush to blend you must notice that throughout the brush the shade of the colour might not be even and some paint sticks to the metal body...when you want to paint fine lines but have to blend it ,you end up using more brushes than required. its also tough to get all that acrylic paint off the bristles after blending them roughly. for a knife, just blend it and wipe the rest to a tissue@@VaishNavi-qm7rm

    Hi Felix. Just want to thank you for your time and patience in producing such wonderfully graphic tutorials. You are greatly gifted, not only in your art but also in you're ability to deliver a practical and informative lesson, in a very calm and encouraging way. Deeply appreciated. My paintings were always ruined by the application of paint. Lol. They'd end up a muddy mess. It was very frustrating! Now, however, I can achieve the desired outcome because someone on KZread took the time to explain the process. I'm so happy, I feel like crying! Lol. At 56, with severe lung disease, I can't do much at all. But I CAN PAINT!!! Thanks to you. 8D

    I love the perspective you added to your piece by making the trees reach up somewhat slanted. It really gives your painting a feeling of observational awe, almost like your witnessing the beauty of the scenery first hand. I'm consumed mentally with being creative. Even when I'm at work, I'll be looking at the ground for a piece of trash/twig/feather that inspires me or that I could incorporate in a project in some interesting manner. I'm a professional at nothing, but I do have a wide variety of hands on practice with using many different materials and methods. Painting, however, has always intimidated me. There is much to understand and learn with this medium, from color theory to the mechanics of layering paint. BUT, stumbling across this video while watching resin techniques has inspired me to JUST START! Like another comment stated, the way you record from start to finish helps give the viewer courage to attempt it themselves and the inspiration to just be creative in general no matter what media you use. GREAT CONTENT! This is why we love KZread and why this platform was created. Thank you for the courage boost to get over my roadblock that has limited my artistic skill set. Subscribing Without Hesitation. P.S. If you have the time to answer a question: Any tips that could help one get a good fundemental foundation of knowledge for this medium from the start? i.e...classes, instructionals, something you might have done different if you had known earlier?

    Hi Geoffrey! Thank you for your great feedback and your very kind message, this is why I have this channel and it is such a blessing to me to hear that it can help you in that way, to give you courage with your art journey. I would say that the main thing that helped me improve with my art is playing with colors and learning to mix my own colors from the 3 primaries plus black and white. I recently came out with an ebook on color mixing that I hope can help those just starting learn how to mix their own colors. Once you can get this down, it really helps with being able to paint anything! That and a lot of consistent practice even if what you're painting turns out not what you wanted, keep going and trying things. Hope this helps! Feliks

    Dear Feliks The things you can draw are the things I write about. I love the woods although I have hay fever but that doesn't mind. The reason I love it is because I like the sounds of the breezing wind behind my ears and it isn't full of people most of the time. Don't get this wrong but I can be a lil bit associal so the woods is the place I can calm down and be myself without caring about what other people might think about me...

    Hello I left a comment on your Instagram. I subscribed to this channel a few months ago. I found you on Instagram in the category under acrylic paintings. I enjoyed this video and thank you for sharing it. Also love that your videos are not time-lapse. Following along with you is great fun. You are very talented and your talent is a blessing of a gift. I wish to win this but if not it’s okay they’ll be other times I’ll still enjoy watching many paintings to come from you. Take care.

    Wow, your painting is amazing!! I watch many painting videos and I must say that you are so helpful when you paint by explaining why you do some of the things you do, like how objects change in color and texture when they become closer and details I have never really thought about until you mention them. Not only are you an excellent artist, you are also an excellent teacher. Thanks for your wonderful videos.

    Thank you so much for the Misty Forest. You did a fantatic detail job on pine trees. It reminds me of being back home and seeing the samething in my back yard. It is like you took a picture. I just love this painting. Also thank you for taking your time and doing this one slow and step by step.
