1. Pre-planning answers: -Look at learning objectives -Write it -Write down formulas. 2. Not connecting ideas after learning -Mindmaps. 3.Not settings times. 4. Not skimming throu the entire ppr. 5.Not doing practice ppr earlier. 6.Not re-creating xam condition while revision. 7.

I am a straight A student but some of the mistakes mentioned here are common in my routine of exam weeks 😭

As someone who is their senior year in college, it's beautiful to see Faye actually learning stuff after her exams. Reminds me back on the days that I realized these mistakes too! Make sure you listen to her!!! Because it's 100% accurate lmao

Actualy I was quite shocked when you said that you do the harder questions first. The method I swear by is doing the simpler ones first really fast, after skimming the paper so that I'm sure I'm already done with the majority of the questions in the first half of the exam. And then, I've got an hour or half depending on the duration of the exam to slowly think and tackle the harder ones.

Great tips, thanks Faye!! Also I prefer physical classes, for me understanding something face to face is much better. In physical classes if u have a Q u can on point ask it while in online it's takes time for the teacher to go through the chat box so yeah this is the one reason too why for me physical is much better:) anyways I'm having my chemistry final exam on Tuesday huhu kinda nervous ofc but well good luck to me and good luck to all who are having exams or are about have exams. I have a question: Wouldn't skimming through the whole paper make us feel overwhelmed now that we know what questions there are and what if our mind just kind of jumbles the answers to all of them? I have the same problem when it comes to skimming through the paper, so i always go through the questions one by one, and that keeps me relaxed the entire time. But Maybe it's because exams in my country (pakistan) are a lot different than other countries and I've realized most of the tips you've given in this video wouldn't work for an exam system like ours. i used to have this problem!! now that we have offline exams it's gotten a lot better for me.. during the first few minutes of the exam i just write down key points for answers that i already know on the question paper itself and then start writing those answers.. if i don't know the answer for any question then i leave space on the answer sheet to come back to later. this way, i get more time in the end to re-check my answers and i usually am a lot calmer at that time and that helps me remember answers that i may not have remembered during the exam!! hope this helps

im also from pakistan and i agree. i prefer solving the questions as they go because once i did skin through the paper and got stressed if i couldnt remember the answer of that question and ofcourse, could not focus on the current question

hmm... that's a good doubt! but i always firstly skim through the whole question paper and mark the questions with the most marks to write first ! i also note the main points that should be in the answer in the question paper with pencil while going through it. best of luck💗

Reading these marks made me realize our exam system is really different. Firstly we're not even allowed to write anything on our question paper. That could be considered a serious crime idk. And we solve our answers on a separate answer sheet. So we dont have to "leave space" for questions, we could just write it wherever. Then we've got the short questions first, they're only about 2 marks each , we have to solve 8, 8, and 6, short questions of each part. Then come the long questions which mark 5 marks each and we have to solve 6 of them. Idk if u can see this pattern but that's why skimming through the whole paper makes us overwhelmed because most questions mark the same.

bruh.. this saved my life, i literally got the exams starting tommorow, that too maths is the first.. i was so stressed out, wondering what i will do in my exams cuz its been years since offline exam.. but now, i know what to do cause of faye. My biggest mistake In exams and tests is not reading the question properly and not going over my answers. My teachers always told me to reread what i wrote and read the questions properly but I never really took that advice seriously. I’m an auditory learner so something that helps me a lot Is to read the question and my answer out loud and explain to myself why it makes sense. But like I don’t want to disturb anyone while taking the test so I just word it out so that there’s no way it’s audible to anyone but me. Doing this has helped me so much, even when studying and doing homework. I feel so much more productive and I feel like I’m actually learning something.

Try past papers. You can find books with questions from each lesson seperately in book shops.

I am going to be a senior high school this coming august (one break yikes) and the interviewer told me that shs is the same as college, so I will definitely take note of these. OMG the last tip was really helpfull, it also improved my test scores thank u sooooo much Faye ur a life saver :)

Tip 2 is so useful, because my exams are essays for each question. For some questions they're so simple and short both in the book and lecture and probably I won't be able to fill the paper. Teachers give low point, if the answers are short. But when you can link them to other topics well and you explain things from different perspective, they like it.
