    Doesn't muriatic acid turn your rocks a yellow color? How long do you have to soak it for I soaked it for a day and it did not work well lol

  • @dustinfindsrocks

    @dustinfindsrocks

    Жыл бұрын

    I will definitely turn things yellow if you don't rinse it really well and then soak it for 24 hours in baking soda water to neutralize the acid. I'm definitely going to have to do a video soon detailing the process. I prefer iron out for oxide stains but muriatic acid is awesome for removing calcite limestone and dolomite from quartz and other minerals.

    @@dustinfindsrocks Only reason I asked was cuz I was wondering if you if you had any knowledge of the meteor impact events in Missouri? Where are the meteor impact sites in Missouri? The geographic area that is now Missouri was hit at least twice and probably three times by crater-forming space rocks. The two confirmed meteorite impacts are the Crooked Creek structure (Crawford County) and the Decaturville structure (Camden County), both of which are several miles in diameter.Oct 14, 2020 Weaubleau, Missouri - United States Meteorite Impact Craters Summary:The Weaubleau (or Weaubleau-Osceola) structure appears to be a 7 to 8 km diameter impact crater located in St. Clair County, Missouri.

    @@DR_SOLOthe closet strike on the south eastern mo area would be the crooked Creek impact in Crawford county Missouri area. You can Google 3 confirmed impacts on the 38 parallel lineament (I think) there are lots of pdfs on the geological studies done on these. I think there are 5 more unconfirmed heavily eroded sites as well.
