Seems all the cool rocks are not in my part of sw Missouri
All that agate in the bedrock, that was crazy. You found some nice pieces in that creek. Can't wait to see the acid video for the big reveal.

Thanks man 😊 yeah it was just a gorgeous day. Usually what you can find in creeks is pretty beat up it’s really cool finding them coming out of the bedrock in such good shape

Missouri Mines State Historical Rock Swap outside of Farmington on the weekend of June 8th and 9th 2024. Local field trips, a great museum and mineral dealers make up a good time.
Those were some amazing finds! The lace agate pieces are phenomenal! And of course the crystals too, and even the calcite is beautiful! There is some cool crystals and some beautiful lace agate! Thanks for taking us along!

Yeah this spot is really cool! It's amazing finding crystals in the creek!
A heavily mineralized creek, with an unbelievable crystalline bedrock! WOW!
Always fun to play in the creek. Even more fun when you find crystals!😃. And then you get to play with acid! Trifecta!😂. Looking more and more like I’ll be heading back down to Washington county again this summer seeing stuff like that being found!

@@dustinfindsrocks I'll check those out, thanks. I usually look in the creeks around Fredericktown for agates. The druzy quartz from haunted ridge are really nice
What a killer creek. Really cool finds. Some really sweet pieces. Not to mention a beautiful area you guys were hounding. Lots of interesting stuff. Cool video, Dustin. Looking forward to seeing some of them after an acid bath.

So many awesome finds and in a really interesting and beautiful area. Enjoyed watching😊

Yeah it's super cool seeing the huge ribbons of quartz and agate with calcite just coming out of the bed rock. Hope you found some killer stuff in Arkansas man!
This is in the county we bought land in to go off grid! So excited to learn how much rock hounding potential there is 😍

For me, it's the chert/flint line that blurs the most. Great stuff as always. I loved that orange piece of jasper that you pulled right before you left the creek, I hadn't seen you get that before.

Yeah chert/agate/quartz are all on a spectrum in my opinion. And yeah the chert/agate pieces are different from what I usually find. Definitely going to experiment with cutting some of them. My son already busted up the big one for me lol. I may try tumbling some of the pieces.
DUDE !!! This is that creek you were telling me about , this is insane the amount of crystals and agate in it not to mention the size of some of them , this place is crazy cool

Yeah this is the place I was telling you about. The druse quartz vugs there are all filled with calcite. Last time we found some dogtooth crystals! Started working on the trilobite video today... We might have to get out somewhere this weekend. I'm not sure what we have going on. We NEED to do a fishing/rockhounding trip sometime soon too I think. Hope you're havin a good day brotha
Oh man, if I had a spot like that in my backyard I would get very little else done! That is some insane agate and cool crystals. Thanks for the great video! Just as a side note, violet flowers are sometimes candied and used to decorate cakes n such

We’re working on it lol! Yeah it’s a really neat spot. So cool seeing a slab of bedrock that’s basically entirely agate and quartz
On a lot of the small creeks, if you walk 50-100 yards uphill, find rocks that haven't been tumbled from the creek
Interesting cher-gatey pieces. We definitely need a sequel to this video to see what you do with them. Crazy how much you guys were pulling out of that creek. Super nice spot. Sweet you can soak your feet after a long day hounding and the other spot too. 😂

Lol yeah nobody soaked their feet. Yes definitely doing an acid video soon. I will also be doing something in the future with the Cher-agates 😆 Cash already busted up the big one for me

The chert is pretty intense because of various brine fluids mixing. Those are deeper basin hydrothermal alterations.
Great video. You should do a video on how you clean up rocks and crystals when you get them home.

Any fossicking groups in Southeast Missouri? I'm looking for hunting with. I am experienced have all my tools and am more than ready to go. Especially after watching you in this Creek. Nice find
If you ever want.to come to Crawford County, I have a few places to hunt.

Cool I’ve looked around only a tiny bit there
Question? What type of acid was used to dissolve the host rock and what steps would I take to get similar results with Quartz and Agates I’ve found in South East Missouri
Hi Dustin, I am looking for a group to go fossicking with. I am an experienced Hound, but don't like going by myself any suggestions
How much money would you say is sitting there at the end?
What creek is it?
Did you destroy all the hydrothermal altered calcite? 😢

Oh no way! Just on one piece
Doesn't muriatic acid turn your rocks a yellow color? How long do you have to soak it for I soaked it for a day and it did not work well lol
@dustinfindsrocks
Жыл бұрын
I will definitely turn things yellow if you don't rinse it really well and then soak it for 24 hours in baking soda water to neutralize the acid. I'm definitely going to have to do a video soon detailing the process. I prefer iron out for oxide stains but muriatic acid is awesome for removing calcite limestone and dolomite from quartz and other minerals.

@@dustinfindsrocks Only reason I asked was cuz I was wondering if you if you had any knowledge of the meteor impact events in Missouri? Where are the meteor impact sites in Missouri? The geographic area that is now Missouri was hit at least twice and probably three times by crater-forming space rocks. The two confirmed meteorite impacts are the Crooked Creek structure (Crawford County) and the Decaturville structure (Camden County), both of which are several miles in diameter.Oct 14, 2020 Weaubleau, Missouri - United States Meteorite Impact Craters Summary:The Weaubleau (or Weaubleau-Osceola) structure appears to be a 7 to 8 km diameter impact crater located in St. Clair County, Missouri.

@@DR_SOLO- Robinson Bluff and Washington State Park area are the impact zones. The meteors were traveling from E to W (slight SW trajectory). You can see the scars on Google Earth and the “land ripples” they created. I have several awesome specimens from those regions

@@DR_SOLOthe closet strike on the south eastern mo area would be the crooked Creek impact in Crawford county Missouri area. You can Google 3 confirmed impacts on the 38 parallel lineament (I think) there are lots of pdfs on the geological studies done on these. I think there are 5 more unconfirmed heavily eroded sites as well.
