Mission Inn Festival of Lights 2022 in Riverside, CA
Ойын-сауық
The Festival of Lights in Riverside, CA is always one of my favorite Christmas attractions each year. The past few years have been a little lacking so it was great to see the festival back to its former glory this year. Here is the video I made on my visit to the Festival of Lights and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments.

Just celebrated our 29 Anniversary today, with the Brunch at the Mission Inn. We came for thanksgiving with our kids about 6 years ago. Wonderful.

Great video. That camera captures night shots that are brilliant and sharp. This gentleman has a very pleasant voice for narration. The shots with the family added a warm and personal touch. Now I'm really looking forward to visiting the Mission Inn "Festival of Lights" - only 15 miles away, but have never been there.
That so nice you could share this night with your family 🎉

Yea, the twins had so much fun!
I love my city of Riverside!! It was great this year at the lighting ceremony to see all the vendors and the tens of thousands of people enjoying the lights! I took a date there recently and she said I missed my calling of a tour guide because I knew so much of about the downtown area!🎉🎄🤘🏻🇺🇸
The Switch on and Fireworks is always the day after Thanks Giving. Thank you for filming my Hometown!
I get homesick every time someone posts the FoL. Great video.
"back in full force" thats great to hear! I remember you saying you were disappointed about how the lights were scaled back in the previous years in last year's christmas lights video
Beautiful! Thank you!
"wonderfull annd excellant vdography sir....i feeling we r travelling ...enjoyble experince....again thanks 4 every anggle capture sence vdography"
I live in Riverside and yes it's a site to see.there is so much to do and see.main street at one time was a street you could drive and park on.
The switch on ceremony takes place the day after thanksgiving every year. Also, mom’s mini donuts has moved to Idaho.
Great sight. Wish I could get there. Wow, the kids are growing fast!
I used to go every year. Now that I'm back in Cali I'll try to go from here on out
WOW nice view
Thank you for sharing
Can’t wait!
The food lab is a great option in downtown riverside. I really like all the options. I like that when you showed the donut place and said “if” you want a donut. I think you meant “when” you want a donut

My co workers miss the mini donuts as well!!!!
I saw you watching Traveling Robert recently, so I decided to check out your channel and subscribe. I like your videos!
There’s a Monty’s on Sunset Blvd. Near Dodger Stadium.
Awesome always like that you travel to my city for this update. May I make two suggestions next time you are in downtown riverside?, Beignet Spot & Arcade Roasters downtown.
Nice video👍❤
Great video, would love to come to LA at xmas one year

There are a lot of great spots around LA for sure
Over it haven't been several years and I live in riverside lol
Great video, as always! Plan to take the family there as it is looking very festive again this year, almost like back to pre-lock down times. Suggestions on where to park? Also where are good bathroom spots to know? Would love to know ahead, because my wife is pregnant, hence the frequent bathroom breaks. 😅

I recommend a weekday if at all possible. If you can get there early (430 ish) you can normally find street parking relatively easy. If it is later there are parking structures, there is one even at the Food Lab which are good options. In terms of bathrooms, Food Lab has one, and I would guess the restaurants along main street would have one too. Not sure about Portapotties though as I wasn't really looking. Hope that helps!

That vegan burger sounds like it would be worth every penny!

I can't imagine there are much better vegan burgers, that is for sure
I went the first Saturday they opened and they allowed us inside but there was a rope to go upstairs. Do they have additional decorations & lights upstairs for hotel guests ?
What time are the festival of lights? I have been there in past years and it's nice, but havent seen the lights.
Does this event stay on during overnight?
Where should we park? Does it cost money to park?
What date does this event end?
Where can you park ? 😮
Are there any Nativity Scenes
Is it open to public
The switch on ceremony is the Friday after Thanksgiving

The kids are so cute. 😁 Great video! This coming weekend (12/10) I’ll be going to the Christmas Lights & Market Fest in Cambria, CA. Any suggestions on camera settings for photographs (not video) of the light displays at night? I have a Canon 90D with the following lens: Canon EF 17-40 f/4 L USM (mk 1), a Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 L USM (mk 1), a Tamron 18-400 f/3.5-6.3), and the Nifty Fifty (Canon 50mm f/1.8). Not the best of lenses for handheld night photography, I know. I’m hoping to upgrade some lenses in 2023. Thanx!

For me, I use the lowest f stop I can for the lens I want to use and I will set like a max iso of around 3000 on my camera (this could be too much noise on your camera though) and I can normal hand hold the shots if I am steady. If I need a little more steadiness I will often put it on the pole of a fence or up against a wall or something as I don't often bring a tripod. Hopefully that helps

@@californiathroughmylens Thanks! What do you think is the longest shutter speed (for those non-IS lenses I have) that I can get away with without causing motion blur? Maybe 1/50 or quicker?

I had the exact same issue as you fastest lens was a 35mmf2(niftyfifty of apsc), just bought the XF18mm f1.4 this year for holiday lights, just shot Sensorio Paso Robles over the weekend, at 1/26 it was still pushing 4000 iso. At 1/50 your iso might be even higher. My advice is to take a few shot of the same scene if you can. Chances are you might get a few clear shots, or just use your family as tripod, or use a 2sec self timer, it takes off the initial shake when you press the shutter.

It World Cup day England vs 🇸🇳 senegal
Went there last week, pretty boring they don't let you inside the hotel unless you're a guest. There are better holiday lights in L.A. - El Segundo Candy Cane Lane, Torrance Sleepy Hollow, Long Beach Naples.
How about calling it "Christmas festival" ? 😇
I was born in Riverside CA. Remember going to Mission inn around 1971 and it was almost condemned. Completely run down and had not been opened since probably the Mid 60's. My great aunti used to make salads there back in 50's 60's. I think the owners were the Millers if I recall. Then around 1998 I returned and saw it was renovated and functioning hotel. Sure glad they did not doz it. Don't care for cali anymore. It was great when I was young but its way too many people there now. As a kid they still had allot of orange groves there. There is no more open space now. Zero.
