I used to write to Josh Weinstein during this time and he used to write back! He sent me scripts and a pile of stickers I still have. I loved this series.
Loved this show. I even bought it on DVD while I was in the army
LOVED this show! Unfortunately I was unaware of this show when it debuted on WB. When it debuted on Adult Swim though, I was obsessed!
Underrated show that deserved much better.
This was such a wonderful show. It really captured what it was like to be young in the 90’s for a certain group of us.
I distinctly remember watching and liking this show.
Bling blong! So looking forward to this one!
I loved Mission Hill, cause I was the same age as the most is the Characters on that show.
Trivia: the theme song is Italian Leather Sofa by Cake, but was instrumental and sped up.
This was like them trying i make a show that looked like the Ghost World Graphic novel... mixed with Daria. I remember watching this somewhere tho. Oh yes, in adult swim, you just got to that part. Great story for this one
Great video! I'm surprised you haven't done another WB network animated show The Oblongs!

Maybe one day. Lots of shows out there.
Remember 3 South? Would be good for 13 week theater.
This was a great show, but I only learned about it on Adult Swim.
This show seriously deserved more of a chance.
i liked this show
I guess this was before the WB... now the CW... stopped cancelling anything! "What?! No one's watching this show?!? Well, give it ten years and then pull the plug!"

Or give it a budget cut, like with Charmed or 7th Heaven. The budget cut on the final season of 7th Heaven (which they got at the expense of Everwood) was so great only Stephen Collins and Beverly Mitchell appeared in all episodes of that season. (And as a result, the whole series.) Catherine Hicks and Mackenzie Rosman missed some episodes, while George Stults (who played Lucy Camden's husband), was written out too. David Gallagher decided not to come back.
Good to see a Worker and Parasite cameo

Well, they ARE quintessential Simpson.
The Godfather and Underdog, what a couple
Might have lasted longer if it was on Fox, but then again The Critic and Napoleon Dynamite failed there. This reminded me of a WB Saturday morning cartoon that could actually qualify for this channel because it was pulled after three weeks: The Legend of Calamity Jane. I loved it, but I suspect it was a little too grim for the kiddies. Another Saturday morning cartoon candidate: The New Adventures of Beany and Cecil. It was yanked after five episodes because ABC thought the material from the show's creator John Kricfalusi was not appropriate for a children's cartoon. What a surprise! Kricfalusi would be later fired by Nickelodeon from The Ren and Stimpy Show for the exact same reason and he would later create its truly horrible spinoff Ren and Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon" (Hey, another candidate for this channel!)

The Critic came from Gracie Films - looking at it, anything post Ullman/Simpsons from them seemed to flop. Phenom did decently well, but there was some behind the scenes drama with Bill Devane.
Mission Hill replaced The Wayans Bros. on the WB in the fall of 1999.
I guess at least they didn’t try it on ABC!
Tom Kenny, Scott Menville and Tress MacNeille didn't let this failure harm their careers, while Wallace Langham went on to a more successful role as David Hodges on the original Las Vegas CSI (and CSI: Vegas) A main factor in Mission Hill flopping was primarily timeslot- it was originally aired on Fridays against Providence on NBC , The Hughleys on ABC and Kids Say The Darndest Things on CBS. Not to mention it was on The WB, which was by this point moving to appeal to teenage girls shtick. It was moved to a Sunday slot in the summer before cancellation, but that placed it against movies on NBC and CBS.

never shouldve been on the wb
I think that Andy versus the real world is based on Puck from the San Francisco season
No network outside of Fox has ever had a successful prime time animated show and even they have shot plenty of blanks.
For some reason, this reminded me of "Gary and Mike", another adult animated (this one Claymation) 13-episode wonder from the same era (2001); UPN showed it on Friday nights alongside "MTV Celebrity Deathmatch", then I believe Comedy Central put it on their late-night graveyard after it was cancelled. Guest voices included Bryan Cranston, Kurtwood Smith, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim Curry, and others. Catchy theme song, too. ...and looking it up, it apparently won two Primetime Emmy awards (!).

That show was great!! Couldn’t for the life of me remember the name of it. Thank you!
Probably my earliest memory of Adult Swim. And Space Ghost of course.
Actually the show seemed pretty good, had a good concept
This looked like this show would b a hit. Unfortunately that wasn't the case
I remember seeing "Mission Hill" on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" and found it an acceptable time killer until "Cowboy Bebop" came on. Oh well, "Adult Swim" did feature shows far too risque for network TV, which were more interesting than "The Simpsons." (I am/was a fan of "King of the Hill" and a current fan of "Bob's Burgers" and "The Great North.";)
And speaking of Downtown,I hope you make a video on it including team knight rider also dont forget to do the video of I married dora as requested and the neighbors by abc
The entire thing was like some ad agency's idea of what Gen Xers wanted to see on television and the ad agency was very, very wrong.

Yeah…I know a lot of people in the comment section here like the show but all I could think of was it's a bunch of Gen X crap.
_SpongeBob SquarePants'_ debut predates _Mission Hill's_ by a few months. Of course, by the time _Mission Hill_ debuted _SpongeBob_ was merely a hit, not Nickelodeon's all-purpose schedule salve.

That, and The Loud House.
This show looks terrible, but then I never cared much for THE SIMPSONS or any other adult cartoons.
