If there was no sign of foul play then that is most likely why it isn’t considered a criminal case with no detectives assigned to it. Great video and glad to see you posting again Harmon!

It’s neat to hear someone else feel the same way I do about Harmin. One of his first videos I watched was actually about a good friend of mine, she was murdered by her estranged husband. He did a fantastic job with the story and being very respectful to everyone else involved. I also have ptsd and his videos are always my favorite too❤

You're saying a year ago and seemed we're jumping back in time to get the details. 🤔 I cannot phathom why the police would say no criminal case is active. Sadly, it does sound like she could have fallen. It's easy to get lost and/or injured. Please keep us updated as hopefully, new details emerge. 🙏❤️🙏

This is tragic! I can't stress enough about hiking with a partner. Though a lot of people do solo hikes, it just means if something goes awry there is nobody with you to help or go get help and your chances of becoming a missing person greatly increase! Im praying for some closure on this one 🙏

Thank you, Harmon. If ever in central KY, I recommend looking into the 1973 murders of Reverend John Barnes and his two children. I was a kid when this happened in Lexington and I remember how it scared everyone. The crime site(s) and the graves are within about 45 minutes of each other. A shocking story that shook even seasoned police.

You should come to Atlanta and do the Atlanta child murder locations. The places where he dumped bodies. Also the Brian Nichols courthouse shooting. There is also the Mark Barton office mass shooting. There's centennial Olympic Park where the bomb went off, unabomber locations, Eric Rudolph abortion clinic bombing locations...a whole bunch of stuff in Atlanta. Also, it would be cool to see more crime locations rather than listening to the story walking through a graveyard. Love the channel 👍🏽

I wonder if the lady you talked to had already received calls from others asking abthe status of her case so she already had a standard form answer for you. That said, without her body, how can the case just be closed with no one working on it? Whether it was criminal or accident, she still needs to be found. Any possibility she ran off & started a new life? If so, maybe police found her and she requested they don't tell anyone so they know there's no case there? Just a thought. If so, she could have fallen in an area with few hikers, therefore if she went off trail and fell, no one would find her. OR, she was abducted on that "back down" trail. Sad. Hi Harmin. I was wondering if maybe she slipped and fell and the snow covered up her body. I don't think at the high altitude the snow would've melted much. I would never go hiking alone even if I did it numerous times in the past. Makes you wonder if she did slip or did someone indeed abduct her. I don't think we will ever know. Great video Harmin. Very sad that she has not been found. I think the police should have an open case because like you said she could of met with foul play. Because it is unknown what happened to her they should have an open investigation because there could be clues out there that just have not been found. If she fell wouldn't someone have found her remains? Even though it's been 6 years they should at least have missing person flyers up along the trail. It's great to have you back Harmin. This certainly a beautiful place to hike, just amazing views! I love the shade fauna in those woods too ! Was she receiving chemotherapy? I ask because the police officer said it’s a search and recovery case. I think she may have gotten bad news about her health & left a note behind that she said goodbye. The fact people saw her taking the rough track down the hard side of the mountain. She didn’t want her bf coming after her ?

This is so sad. No one has any idea what happened to her? Prayer's to her family & friends.

Had to check out the channel. Oddly enough, one of my friends was good friends with Sam. It sounded like foul play. Such a frustrating situation.

Stay safe on your travels as you seem to have everything that you need! This is a strange case for sure! How could she just vanish without a trace? No body or any of her items found? No car? I pray for closure for her family! They deserve answers!

They must think she willingly disappeared! Yeah like that could be it!

What other cases are you referring to that happen on this same highway? I'm curious to see those videos.

While we all of course should be able to hike alone whereever we want, please always go with a friend or club. Not only because of this scenario, but in case you roll an ankle, etc.

Do you ever hear or see spooky things doing these? What is the weirdest things that's ever happened giving us these wonderful videos? I would love it if you did a little paranormal researching at some of these places.

I read in a news article that the search and rescue team spent 22 days looking for Sam and turned up nothing. To not find a single clue, not any of her belongings, makes me believe this is a criminal case.

6:34 actually, it is a 7 mile 'out-and-back' trail, meaning the entire trail from start to finish totals 7 miles or so.

Trail grades range from -48% up to 44% other parts of the trail even higher, because of scramble reasons. elevation grade. It's a sick/steep trail!

One more thing: If you plan to go out to the field to where these missing people ended up, the. May I recommend to you a map, particularly 'AllTrails'. At the very least, one is able to look at the route of the trail they plan to go on. Physical maps don't hurt either, so REI or any other outdoor "outfitter" may sell as well. Best of luck and this was a touching story..

The sheriff's office didn't categorize or label the case as 'criminal' due to a lack of either a) direct evidence. b) circumstantial evidence. That's not to say they don't have their suspicions. There's just nothing solid enough to work with ~ (all of this is just my singular little opinion) ◇

All we know is someone knows something and no one is talking.
