1 hr 20min layover time is really less. It's always risky with such timings.

This happened to me in March..qatar booked me into another flight but honestly i want to call out on them for not giving any accomodation at LHR …! And when i mailed them after i reached uk …because i was a day late when i entered this country..! they started talking about their article number so and so. Horrible !

I learnt this lesson long back. I always book direct flight between Delhi and UK after the same experience with Qatar many years back. I was with my small daughter then so they put me in a hotel and we took next flight to Edinburgh 22 hours later. With a small child in a strange country was a very nerve racking experience although once they sorted it out and gave the hotel coupons it was smooth as they arranged the pick up n drop from the hotel. So you can ask for that option as well.

You're a sport for making through a harrowing experience like this while flying for the first time! Another potential way to avoid this would be to book both flights of the same airline (Qatar in your case), through their official site instead of online travel sites like MakeMyTrip etc. Then the airline will directly be responsible for catering to you in such situations since both your boarding passes will be issued at your departing airport in India.

If the airline is same in conceting flights then two boarding passes issues from departure place or when we have to enter to the country there we have to take luggage again and again do boarding ? Kindly answer

If a person is traveling with their airline they should take responsibility of travellers luggage to give their luggage on their final destination. Rather than allowing to travellers to pickup and again check-in with all the hectic procedures.

Last year i had issues with Qatar Airways as well.. i landed at doha airport and my flight was for Toronto with layover in Heathrow...i was worried the if i would miss my flight to Heathrow due to short layover at doha for less than 2 hours...i reached doha on time fortunately and boarded the plane as well however because aircraft didn't got ground clearance all passengers were requested to gett off the aircraft. It was mentioned that Qatar Airways would arrange another aircraft for the flight to Heathrow. This flight was several hours late...by the time i landed at Heathrow it was 6 pm and my connecting flight to Toronto left at 6 pm....i had no chance of getting my connecting flight at Heathrow..the next flight to Toronto was next day....i had to spent 14 hours on Heathrow waiting for my next flight....i wasn't provided any room accommodations food or water....i wasn't refunded any money for qatar airways messing up with the flight.... If you want to joke with your self fly with Qatar Airways....

My ATQ to DEL flight was late by 2 hours. It was Jet airways. DEL-LHR flight waited for 45 mins for around 4 of us. We cleared immigration at Delhi faster than others. The minute 4 of us got in the aircraft. Pilot was like boarding complete! Crew:" Prepare for take-off" Whole plane was staring at us for 45 mins delay we caused because of no fault of our own.

Thats a horrible situation. Thank you for sharing. I have one query sir, pls respond. I booked flight with Lufthansa airlines which has two stops Mumbai and Munich. In mumbai the airline only provided 1 h 20 min of layover. is it sufficient to collect baggage, re-check in and for immigration?? Pls share ur opinion … Anyone reading this comment can also share their valuable opinion.

For that they take extra charge ?

Qatar Airways and Doha airport is the worst airline and airport. I have had a terrible experience with them in December last year.

@@Dream_UK My mother-in-law was to travel from Bangalore to Edinburgh via Doha. The flight reached Doha late and they packed her off on another Qatar flight to Barcelona, saying she is booked on another flight from Barcelona. But they didn't do anything. On reaching Barcelona, she was detained by immigration officials and kept under arrest, saying she entered the country without travel documents. When we called Qatar, they were lying she has already reached Edinburgh. And the airport officials in Barcelona would not speak any language apart from spanish. Finally a Spanish speaking friend spoke to them and explained what happened. Then we struggled to make Qatar Airways accept they screwed up. Finally they booked a BA flight from Barcelona to London. And next day another flight from London to Edinburgh. In between all this, even her luggage got misplaced.

Hey Rakesh! I booked the entire journey with Qatar. But they have a tie up with Indigo where passengers are brought to Qatar from India via Indigo, and then the remaining journey is with Qatar Airlines from Doha

Buddy I suggest UG from India. It's cheaper plus you never know if PSW will remain by the time you will finish UG. But there could be many different factors to consider. So think about everything before making a final decision
