I can tell she has worked hard to strengthen her lower register, and she's protecting her upper register by only using it sparingly, like the F5 note near the end, which is smart. I think too many people misunderstand what music is about. Music is about connecting to the audience through lyrics and notes, conveying emotions or telling a story. It's not about impressing people by belting out crazy high notes Morissette knows this - you see it in every performance. She is one of the best female pop singers in the world right now, very few can keep up with her. And when she's at her best, like in this song or with her performance of Resignation, no one can touch her.

I swear. It doesn’t matter what song Morissette sings. She had that skill to connect to the audience with so much emotion.
