Ово је ужас , као и сада. Никада најлепша не победи. Једне године , мис моје земље је била прва пратиља. Није желела да подржи америчку војску да ли беше у неком од ратова , једноставно није желела да се меша . Рекли су јој онда да не очекује титулу . Толико колико је све регуларно . Данас такође лепотице све просечне , некада и горе од тога. Брука , ове изборе треба игнорисати.

Pinagmamalaki ko ang kandidata ng Pilipinas, Minerva Cagatao. She walks, climbed and descended that stage with ease. It's very evident that she's a model.

The Caribbean Queens winners..in 1970..Grenada Won Miss World..and Puerto Rico Won the Miss Universe 1970...gorgious both of them!

This was the one with the protest. Later on in 2020 a Movie called Misbehavior was created.

Finally the whole show on KZread all i seen have been clips and footage of 1970 Miss World how did you found it

They have a peculiar, almost constipated walk some of these ladies in the swimsuit section. I expect they were taught to walk like that. Miss Grenada absolutely nailed that most uncomfortable of walks, Miss Israel and Miss South Africa were completely at home in a swimsuit too. But boy oh boy the waist on Miss USA! Just 22 inches.

The sixth Miss World crossover to win Miss Universe after those five is Mexico's Andrea Meza in Miss Universe 2020 after being first runner-up in Miss World 2017.

Amei a miss Brasil, época que tínhamos lindas misses no miss mundo.

This year was controversial because it revealed the ranking system of Miss World being open to manipulation and interpretation. At Miss Universe, who ever gets the lowest score ( most#1 and higher ranking votes) wins. Here at MW, Miss Sweden got 4 #1 votes from 8 Judges and yet she only came in 4. To his day I have yet to understand how the system worked despite Eric Morley blabbing about how Grenada won over Sweden because the other 5 judges ranked her higher. Sweden would’ve at least be first runner-up.

I need to see miss world 1971 and 1972 please!!!

Back in the day, women appeared older than they were because of make up etc.

The 1960s so restrained (except the daft updos) and with dignity, then 1970...OMG the outfits, the unflattering photos, the guys singing in their ruffled shirts and brown suits. If you just saw the photos, you'd never guess these women were beauty queens with the exception of Miss Hong Kong, Miss Mauritius,Miss Thailand , Miss Turkey and Miss USA who somehow managed to defeat the photographer and look good in their photos.

At that time apartheid still existed in South Africa and up until then had only entered white girls into the competition. However there started to be complaints about how unfair this was, so the organisers quickly found a black contestant. What to call her? They came up with Miss Africa South.

Hope fled the stage when a flour bomb was thrown at him and Eric Morley took his place on stage addressing the audience as security tried to bring order and arrest the protesters. Julia Morley stopped Hope before he ran to her dressing room. With the situation under control, which lasted about a minute and a half, Bob Hope returned to the stage at Morley's request and said that this had served as training for his trip to Vietnam.

Miss Yugoslavia 1970 was characterized because she was a very distracted girl, it is believed that she did not go to the Top 7 for this reason, but the girl was extremely beautiful!

Julia Morley stepped down because of the furor, only taking up her role again when husband Eric put on display all the voting cards, proving Miss Grenada was the bona fide winner over a favourite, Miss Sweden.
