I agree. But the world wasn’t ready yet at that time to have a back-to-back win. But if they really wanted, the USA could have won for 3 consecutive years with Chelsi, Ali & Brooke. But Ali should have been 1st runner up in Miss Universe at least.

@@paulaward2075 I watched it live at the time and thought so too. But, Miss Louisiana had earlier been picked as Most Photogenic, so she had that over her eventual 1st runner-up.

Do you notice when the person usually the outgoing winner helps out by putting clips on the crown to hold it in place? Miss USA 1995 did a good job; however, some winners don't seem to care or rather see the crown fall especially if their state or country just lost (i.e. 1st runner-up). Some try and fail too. However, some look intentional. Just seeing if y'all noticed that too?

Ali was so appreciative and said thank you to the judges three times. What a nice moment! Also shared the moment with our grandmother. She passed away 5 years later. Glad we had one winner before she left us and shared a special moment.

@@lilytsui3015 No, we shared the moment with our grandmother. Hope it wasn't too confusing. We waited every year for Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss America for our state to win and someone finally won before our grandmother passed away. It brings us a nice memory.

@@lilytsui3015 Yes, thank you. It is nice of you to say. Miss Louisiana Teen won in the Miss Teen USA pageants in 2004 and 2015, but our grandmother passed away in 2001. We had one nice moment to remember. We were actually in another state at the time of the show, but when we came back home and talked to her, she said she saw it with a smile on her face. We only got 1st runner-up in Miss America. It happened four times. Here is one of the 4 acts that you might enjoy back in 1988: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqGisciPhMebf9o.html . We thought she would win, but came in 1st runner-up. The Miss America contestants were not as pretty as the Miss USA and Miss Universe contestants because there is a talent portion. However, this year we thought we had it all. Maybe one day one will win before we die.

A wonderful Top 3, any of them could be a great Miss USA. And it was Ali Landry's turn.

She was among the semifinalists in Miss Teen USA 1990. She actually topped the preliminaries.

LOL... the KD’s at USL gave Ali the boot for, well use your imagination and the second she won immediately reclaimed her and put a shrine up to her in their chapter house!!

Please any future winners. This should be a lesson to you. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MARRY MARIO LOPEZ!

Creagh Roberson No, but the other two were from 1958 and 1961, so they were lonnnggg before Ali and well this was 24 years ago already so whoever the next Miss Louisiana to win Miss USA is will be long after Ali.

Kansas has the stage presence and the it factor but Ali has a softer type of beauty. Many critics and fans think Ali is more beautiful and one of the most beautiful Miss USAs ever.

And age wise I think she can compete in 2000(?). But there is no denying Ali is stunning. She was a big favorite to win Miss Universe that year but the judges didn’t favor as they did when she won preliminaries! So weird.

Trump acquired the MU Org in 1996. Which means Ali is the first Trump-owned Miss USA.

Couldn't believe Kansas lost. Louisiana was cute but nowhere near as gorgeous as Kansas.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think Louisiana is a very soft type of beauty. I like her look more than Kansas. Kansas is also beautiful but she looks a little arrogant at times. Anyhow, she won Survivor and is well known now so it’s a win for both ladies!

I actually think Kansas got more beautiful with age. She began to look much more androgynous and interesting looking as she got older (you can see her on Survivor Guatemala)
