These people have amazing voices. I've been coming back here. This production even stir my emotions more than some of the professional productions I've seen here on youtube.

First of all, fantastic job to everyone involved, sounds wonderful! What surprised me moreso than the great singing was actually how powerful this becomes when performed by high school students. For me, it highlights that there were many who fought far too young and had to grow up far too quickly. Really great job.

There is a lot of flack in the comments about this song. Yes, I was hoping for a crackerjack group of male vocal students singing this song, but let’s remember how demanding this show is. Technically, musically, and dramatically. They all did a DAMN good job. Let’s use this as an opportunity to draw attention to the channel and keep their phenomenal arts program strong. Happy Holiday!

I don't understand people complaining about women singing Bui Doi? Doesn't matter how many women actually fought in Vietnam, aren't they still allowed to support an organisation that helps children in need? I don't understand.

The licenses for this production states that women can't perform in this production. Along with your not allowed to costume, set or light the show to close to the original show

@@charlie-oc4460 There are literally women in the original production. There a even female roles. And besides, there are multiple ways to produced a show legally. And since Kings Academy has never produced a show illegally I doubt they did this time.

They're called Bui-Doi The dust of life Concieved in hell And born in strife They are the living reminders Of all the good we failed to do That's why we know Deep in our hearts That they are all Our children too

It gives context to the emotional hook of the show. Mixed race children after the Vietnam war were essentially ostracized by their society. Kim knows that, she knows Tam will never have a good life in Vietnam, and that's why she goes to such extreme measures to get him out. Plus, the song sheds light on a real life issue we didn't really consider after the Vietnam war. Kim and Tam's story probably happened in real life. Dozens of times.
