I really like all the activities going on in the Bootcamp. Miss Rwanda is evolving more than ever. Even the girls who won't get any crown will surely make out a good living with these skills. I really like all the interventions they're putting in using our Kinyarwanda Proverbs (it's so culture-preserving). This is a really nice exercise to help them fight for women's stand in Rwanda and all other societies. Thank you! Keep going higher girls!! You really did become our role models. 😊😊

@@giselexo They had a point but struggled to get it across. They emphasized that secondary school is too late. Why not make it mandatory before then (primary schools) so that the students can get to secondary level ready and equipped with the right information to prevent these teen pregnancies?

As an urban debate, the girls on the proposition side needed to find a point of view. The opposition had one but did not give a stand point either. I believe that their argument if well thought out can actually cause change. In this generation with all the exposure, the home, community and primary is the best place to start. the trick of the stand point is that you do not completely oppose the motion. You just tweak it a little to make your point. I would have made my stand point like this: We do not refuse that Reproductive Health should be made compulsory in secondary school, we are just saying start early and grow it. Because people interact with their sexuality way before high school...

The opposition side didn’t understand the other group, and they were a bit passive aggressive. While cutting off the other group.

Normally the 1st speaker is not interupted at all and the 2nd and 3rd speaker have few minutes in order to prepare for the reply speech starting from the the opposition side and the first speaker just enlightens the judges on the points that the fellow debators mainly the 2nd speaker will talk about. But this was okay for a first time.

Hahhh i guess it's mostly those who repeated the class cus by the age of 12 you are supposed to graduate from primary school and i doubt those who got pregnant were 12 years old no way.so yeah Darina is right,secondary school is where they must emphasize the reproduction education,make it mandatory but if they put such a thing in primary schools it might make a lot of kids want to try to do it thus worsen the situation,so families should be the ones to educate those kids,and as for secondary schools their teachers have to add more to what their parents taught them.

Kwigisha nuguhozaho is a RWANDAN proverb , teach it at primary is not a garanty of not teaching it at secondary school. If it is a must @ primary school than guess how it will be @ secondary school because it will be do it or forget about!!! This is a very delicate topic and a big issue in our society and beyond. In this debate, both teams managed to provide some good points. kudos to them However, I personally believe that this subject should be taught as early as possible at all levels; primary and secondary level and also by parents/ guardians; Since education is our best weapon in preventing teen pregnancy. It has been shown repeatedly that the more a teen understands about where babies come from and how they can prevent pregnancy, the better off they will be. So, let us all work together to fight this issue. Thank you!
