Miss May I - A Dance With Aera Cura

A kiss of shame temps me to question love.
Your sweet taste,
Kills all beauty.
Eyes of a goddess I fall prison to.
A heart of a fool,
I've been cursed .
A goddess of love
She imprisons me
So take my, take my hand
I won't forget
Her skin is crawling with regret
The feeling of nothing
Is this all she ever wanted
Her dress flows red, shimmering.
Reflections of the damned
Cast upon walls.
They scream for salvation.
Breaking everything you seem to love
Breaking everything you seem to love
She rises up from the shallows
She rises up from the shallows
Breaking everything you seem to love
I will never forget
I won't forget
I won't forget

It's sad that 2009 is considered "classic" these days, lol. MY classic metalcore extends all the way back to 2003 (with ABR Thrillseeker) :D

9 жыл бұрын
Christian Searcy Don't want to be an asshole or what, but Thrill Seeker was released in 2005 and A Dance With Aera Cura by "Miss May I" was released in 2007 in their EP "Vows for a Massacre" so it's pretty close! Nah back in 2003 it was more stuff like As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage haha

Jumpship mate ;) Not tryna put you down but get you back up. This music is everything compared to messages rap music give out now and days. It's okay to mature but it's also ok to have fun a little ya know. Shit. We can just meet up at August Burns Red show and be at the bar drinking while we see ourselves going crazy in the pits again. Sorry. Im 29 and I feel no matter how old I get. Metalcore will never leave my soul for me to enjoy.

Holy shit this came out in 2010...it's 2019 now as I type this. This was hands down one of the best metalcore albums ever released. I remember jamming the shit out of this album as a teenager. My and my friends were so hyped listening to it we were shaking the care back and forth while listening. Miss this kind of music.

After listening to their new Album „curse of existence“ i came back to listen to this masterpiece of an Album , and i think it is by far their best Album. The heaviness, the blast Beats, the drums, the guitars, the Perfect Recording - everything is raw, heavy and fast. Even the unclean vocals are heavier. „Curse of existence“ is good, but „Apologies are for the weak“ really hits me like a Truck!😅
@aritrapandit1001

To me, "Apologies are for the weak" is surely one of the greatest metal records ever written, not just in metalcore, but the entire genre.

Together with All That Remains - Fall of Ideals, As I Lay Dying 2005 and 2007 albums (and 2019 is really good), KSE - As Daylight Dies, Parkway Drive - Horizons (others good too), Trivium - Ascendancy (2003 also good) and so on. I got melodic anything bands (from power, techical, melodeath, etc.) I discovered throughout years, some hidden gems people don't know: Archons - The consequences of Silence (2008) Burn After me - Ascent (2013) Disarmonia Mundi - Fragments Of D-Generation (2004) Light This City - Facing the Thousand (2006) Orden Ogan - Easton Hope (2010) Ouroboros - Glorification of a Myth (2011) Aetherian - The Untamed Wilderness (2017) Bloodred Hourglass - Where the Oceans Burn (2015) Caliban - Vent (2001) Crystal Lake - True North (2016) Dark Moor - The Gates of Oblivion (2002) Dark Oath - When Fire Engulfs the Earth (2016) Kataklysm - Of Ghosts and Gods (2015) Mors Principium Est - Embers of a Dying World (2017) Kalmah - Palo (2018) Raintime - Flies and Lies (2007) Suidakra - Lupine Essence 1997, but remastered version (2020) Sunless Rise - Unrevealed (2015) The Sorrow - Origin of the Storm (2009) Universum - Mortuus Machina (2010) Until We Die - A Lost Legacy (2015) and special mention to their 2016 song Bereft of Life Voice of Ruin - Morning Wood (2014) World Under Blood - Tactical (2011) This Last World - The Wasteland (2019)

I loved this song so much when I was like 11 years old. 8 years later now I found it again and I still love it!
I remember when i heard this song for the first time. It was way ahead of it's time.
This is still one of my all time favorites!
I LOVE the lyrics in this song.
Never heard this band before, and i love them! thankyou smosh!
Masterpiece!!!
Saw them at Chain Reaction way back in 2017. I was so happy when they played this song. One of the best shows I've ever been to.
Dude love this band! Seeing them in 2024 baby!!! Metal isn't dead! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
2020 Charged up my MP3 scrolling through music found these songs and ended up playing them on you tube one of the best out there
I really feel like this album came out at the wrong time. This is imo one of the greatest metalcore records of all time but it didn't get as much attention as it should've because it came out at a time when the whole scenecore thing was happening - bands like Attack Attack, Asking Alexandria, etc. If this album would've came out at least 5 years earlier when bands like Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, and All That Remains were leading metalcore, this band would've been huge.

amazing!
i honestly just discovered this band and i feel in love with the guitar riffs almost immediatly.. and being a guitarist i love how talented they are becuz people think oh some of this is easy just becuz the rhythm sounds easy. well holy shit they make some rhythms that'll fuck with ur mind while trying to play them xD
I recently realised that this song, the first song on AAFTW, ends with the line "I won't forget", while Forgive & Forget, the final song on AAFTW, ends with a repetition of "I won't forget". I wonder if that was intentional...? (Probably not I just thought it was cool)
