+KingDragonCat Yes, but she most definitely is a skilled violinist. Her only problem was the piece she chose. It's clearly too much for her. That's as if I who cannot play anything more difficult than Beethoven's sonata no.1 on the piano attempted Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody no.2

As someone who has been playing violin for 10 years, here are my opinions. As terrible as this performance is, it is evident that she at least has some skill. She does techniques such as vibrato, so obviously she has had violin lessons. HOWEVER - there’s no denying that she could use A LOT of improvement. While she does have some skill, she obviously has not practiced this piece enough, for starters. Her tone is also very rough, which could be mainly due to the fact that she has a whole bunch of rosin caked on her violin, as well as how much pressure she is putting on the bow. Many of the notes she plays are very pitchy and out of tune, some even completely wrong (she plays a perfect 5th at the beginning and the jump should be an octave, not a 5th). Also, her attitude is just pretentious. I think she legit has potential, while I doubt she is the next Hilary Hahn I think if she worked on a) humbling herself, and b) practicing more, it would not be impossible for her to actually be a decent violinist. Just my $0.02.

.....She's brave, but being brave alone isn't going to help her hammer the right intonation and bow attacks. Now, excuse me while I go and listen to Michael Rabin's version instead........ This is coming from someone who doesn't want to post videos of himself playing the violin because he isn't confident of himself yet. (I'm still taking lessons and my teacher mentioned that he wanted to teach Zapateado; I'm not sure yet and I want to be ready for it like REALLY REALLY REALLY READY!).
