So they advertise for Playboy in their opening sequence touting the "wonders" of Atlantic City, yet they make Vanessa give up her title over some nude photos? Ridiculous, and hypocritical.

I can spot Vanessa Williams! She sure was the prettiest out of all the girls.

Miss Ohio was previously Miss Alabama in the 1980 Miss USA Pageant. She placed 3rd runner-up there and was 4th runner-up in this pageant.

All the tile on the floor and walls makes the set look like a giant bathroom.

Did anyone else notice how Gary Collins looked right at Vanessa and said to her that she has "The Right Stuff!" ? 4:24 How prophetic or ironic. Was it known that Vanessa Williams would be crowned Miss America 1984 before the competition got underway?

Miss Oklahoma (at 9;35) is now an out lesbian and married 6 years to a gorgeous brunette.

The Miss America Pageants are fun to watch! I have walked past Boardwark Hall many times in recent years ... and I actually walked into its lobby only once. It's a fun place to see!

I just spent more than ten minutes of my life on this.

Pam Battles of Alabama was always my favorite. I wanted her to win. I wonder what she looks like now and what she's doing.

She was my piano teacher several years after this pageant. She still plays beautifully and sings too. Married to a pastor.

Moria Kaye, Miss Tennessee, was a spoiled rich little brat whose daddy moved her around from county to county until she finally won a pagent. She was NOT pretty, and not talented. Everyone in Tennessee who knew her or knew about her and her daddy's influence, hated her.

I was at the Miss America Pageant this year for the whole week I’m from Pa it should still be held in Atlantic City. Sure not the same.

The pageant was held in September 1983 to crown the 1984 Miss America.

The black Miss America dancer was prettier than them all. She should have tried. I am sure she would have won.

♓ Vanessa Williams in my view was the only true Ms America .. PERIOD..And she's a PISCES..which is the best astrological sign.. PERIOD..

Terrible wardrobe for introductions. Miss Utah got stuck with the granny look. Miss Louisiana has a very spaced out look about her.
