One of the real reasons the show has stopped is richard rawlings has ended his contract with Discovery so none of the shows will return. His contract with Discovery pre dated youtube exc and he could not do any modern social media style entertainment witch is where the real money is now and if he did Discovery would sue him as the contract stopped him from doing any thing not on there plateform. This might be the same for some of the other shows you see on Discovery that where kinda also pre youtube and why you dont see a lot of the big names from shows doing more social media style entertainment.

@@apengelly86 KZread it's been around for 15 years even well before Google bought it. Are you sure that it was RR that ended the contract and not discovery.? If it was discovery he could definitely still keep doing shows online. But misfit garage ended in 2018 for no reason gas monkey continued after that so something happened to misfit garage.

Because it was getting low ratings and the script writers were out of ideas. You can only have so many guys coming in and out and more antics than actual car builds to keep car guys interested.

don't know being fake, seems like a pretty good reason, not that "reality" tv viewers are opposed to fake (since 100% of them are at least half staged) . It seemed fishy to me from the start, seemed like the drama more then the cars were center stage. One of the many reason I don't like "reality" tv shows, cause they couldn't be further from reality. Once the same drama over and over got boring (ratings fell) it makes sense the show and the fake shop would close.

Not in 2018 it wasn't that's when misfit garage stopped in the middle of its season. Yet there was no word why it was stopped I believe it got more ratings than RR who was the executive producer

Not 100% maybe 50%, they were real mechanics doing real mechanical work they just couldn't show all that. But let me ask you why was misfit garage stopped in the middle of its season in 2018? Fast and furious continued on after that and misfit garage got good ratings at that time. Thanks for the reply

There is one OG show that delt with cars actually I think one of the first car customization shows out there and that was Monster Garage

I feel like if it wasn't for Aaron, neither of these shows would exist. He has a wealth of knowledge and understands period correct hotrods and builds with perfect taste. Nothing the guy touches ever comes out gaudy or off. Just the right amount of wheel, hight, fitment, etc every time.

Yeah you're right. And I think kind of wrong to Aaron had his own show and it didn't go over good at all it was a horrible horrible show. He's got a nice shop state-of-the-art equipment but he's trying to go after fabbing parts. A little different than where Richard was trying to do

I've actually met Dennis at one of the Gas Monkey car shows (the bar and grill was in my neighborhood)and he's a truly nice guy. Richard on the other hand is a prick and you can't get within 10 feet of him regardless of how cool the show says he is.

Totally agree it was obvious the show was faked pretty much in its entirety and just like OCC or Boyd Coddington it kept getting more staged and eventually ran out of gas. BUT that doesn't mean you can't follow it and also somebody made some serious bucks at some point off the show.

Tom Weeks is one of the best dam engine builders ever. His race cars were fast an reliable. I use to help out at devil's bowl races with Tom. He built an engine for my 63 an that thing just ran an ran fast. Miss hanging out Joe.

Tom was on Dennis Collins KZread channel the other week selling him an engine. By how he was talking it seems all over for fired up garage.

I went over to misfit garage one time to ask about having some work done and they said they really don't do work at all and just do filming. That gave me the clue that I needed which was that it was never really a garage to do work to begin with. They referred me to the front part of the garage before they took it over for filming there.

Well they were getting paid very well so why did certain employees quit? A couple were fired also never seen again. I heard they did do a lot of the work just couldn't show it on TV especially that painter did all his own work. But yes we all know it was scripted to a certain extent. What did you need done on your car did you need a complete restoration? Cuz I don't think they did small stuff

@@WisdomOverWicked777Rules I had an old chevy truck that needed a resto job, it was quite salvageable and had good bones woth than needed some body work and a complete gone thru much like you see in the show. They also said that Rawlings wouldn't do that kind of work either and not being able to find a place that did that kind of work I just finally sold it as is on ebay.

RR is all about RR. In the end he will eventually have nothing. He has no skills and fast and loud as been canceled. He’s on his way down. I don’t know him or met him , I just don’t like the show off attitude. Iron resurrection and Bitchin rides are good shows. I don’t want to here an owner complaining about money and deadlines the whole time. RR takes credit for everything and does nothing. Just my opinion:)

As a Dallas resident who grew up racing in that area, I would agree 100%. Rawlings couldn't tell you the firing order on a 5hp Briggs and Stratton. Aaron was skilled.

I happened to be in Dallas and stopped by Gas Monkey garage to find the only thing open was the gift shop some cars in the parking lot no workers on cars so I hung around for 2 hours and I saw NOTHING GETTING DONE no WORKERS , NO CUSTOMERS ( except in gift shop ) and a sign saying closed set no entry !

I did watch misfit garage and I liked it more than the other one but now fast n loud is gone too.

This is old new. Richard said last week he is done with discovery Channel.

GMG is not the same without the good guys. Looks like they got guys that belong in that garage in vegas.

Rawlings no longer works for Discovery. He went on Joe Rogan last month and said so.

It was like watching the stooges episode where they were working in the garage and fixing the captains car, but ad-libbed again for every episode. good fun

But maybe, no definitely, I will never watch this channel again. A whole lot of nothing.

Misfit Garage, needs to come back! Discovery needs too listen!

as a garage owner, this was no surprise and something we talk about pretty regularly.. It takes $40k and up to properly restore most cars.. You want to know how big that market is when the average is probably closer to 80K? Rawlings is had and always has been a joke as far as being a serious car guy...

I never thought it was real, although I enjoyed watching it for six years, I mean, that cab not tied down, just blowing off the trailer, set up, tom falling down and smashing the " irreplaceable " windshield, set up, all for show

This was a great show. I miss it.

never did get why people like watching Gas Monkey considering 1/2 the show is Richard getting his ego stroked. I watched one season and got tired of watching Richard and his ego.

Fast and loud is finishing as well next year

I worked on this show for a season. It’s funny to me to see what the audience comes up with for answers. Few “facts” of this video has truth.

@@956MoE Any production company you work with makes you sign an NDA. And since I didn’t read it line by line, I don’t know what exactly I can and cannot say. However, the assumptions made about why cast/talent left or if the shop was an actual work shop are funny to me. Other facts are just very obvious observations. “Hey. Is this shop that came about when someone dumped money into it to make a show real??? Like, is it a real shop??” Or “Why can’t I go on set??” Is another great one.

@@solohorhey92 which show was you on and which episode? Do you know what happened to misfit garage in 2018 why it stopped production in the middle of the season? Because fast and loud continued until 2020 when him and discovery went there separate ways

I live in the same town as Thomas Weeks, Quinlan Texas. He has owned a tiny little one bay machine shop here for a couple of decades. An absolute small town shyster. Friend of mine years ago paid for a complete rebuilt engine and a couple of weeks after it was "installed" he asked me to take a quick look at it because it was making a funny noise and it was a Sunday so he couldn't take it in to the garage. I pull the dog house (it was a van) and I see a junkyard engine with a sloppy quick paint job on it. Bolts encased in grease with paint over it. Painfully obvious that not one bolt had been removed other than the ones necessary to swap out the engine for the junkyard engine. Show should have been called "Dipshit Garage" He even exposed himself as a hack on the show. For some big build he brings in two mismatched cylinder heads for an engine with different size valves, different casting numbers and valve stem installed heights all over the place. WOW. He has been doing this kind of shady AF stuff so long he never even considered how retarded that made him look.

Regardless of what really happened, or is happening, I think Richard is a genius.

I won't knock Richard for this he's a genius honestly and set

Love these people that go on about stuff they have no clue about.

Richard announced the other Fast and Loud was leaving Discovery but show was not going away more news coming later

I just seen Phipps as the real landlord when the show was on...I kept telling myself a few things about the show but it was entertaining for the most part
