Vladimir Cochet.. Just an amazing fucking man.. Once you have read all his lyrics, heard all his songs literally hundreds of times without one single song getting overused or boring. That is when you can truly say that factually something is a masterpiece.. To you at least. So an opinion. I have memorized most his songs by now, and Mirrorthtrone, Unholy Matrimony, Weeping Birth are the only bands I actually even listen to now.. It's been this way for more than a year. Each song is a masterpiece.

What is this strange blaze in the Western sky Confusingly recalling an endless cry, Echoing weakly throughout the horizon, Flying blindly to an hazardous destination? Night and day it stands fiercely there In such a pernicious and piercing glare, Holding its terrible secret for itself And ignoring the pitiful, plaintive prayers. Few are those who seem to see it And yet the reflection in their eyes Wakes in the beholder such disgrace to commit Unavowable tragedies, mother of any demise. What is this gangrene cankering above our heads Slowly waking in us all the denied dreads Buried and chained deeply within our breasts Sworn to be forgotten, but alas in vain manifests? Is this just a human extension, A part of ourselves thrown in the outside Or is it, implying great tension, An exterior object we can only try to abide? Should our dreaded nightmares have become flesh And suffocate us in their rotting stench? Could it be that the filth dishes we kept leaving behind us, for our children to finish because human feces weren't to our taste but probably to theirs, because yes they must love our shit and swallow it with delight; could those denied full plates of wet muddy crap one day decide to rebel against their left and forgotten state and throw themselves within our tyrannically bourgeois mouths? Well yes, this is what is happening Like the newborn child the mother gives birth to: The extension of her flesh suddenly becoming A free identity; no more one but two. And when the child loses ingenuousness, And in the womb and sting sees no more love, Not vanished, but never enclosed! Disdainfulness! Iron spikes grow from the just fallen doves. Falling on the knees, Infected with a sudden disease; Those foreign hands around their neck Leaving the body lifeless, a sunken wreck. Falling on the knees, Infected with a sudden disease: The fecal rebellion. The roarstorm of the lion.

Get this, on a high end note here. Record companies pay Artist about 10% of each record sale, thats about $1.00. Some don't even go that high and only get $0.30 (Oh boy!) per album sale. Micheal Jackson once even got a company to give him $2.74 per album sale(Golly jee!). Now get this... Would you rather pay that artist $1 or $5 dollars? I think you just answered your question. So do you wish to Buy your music? or Donate to the artist? Go ahead, Google and learn about Musical Royalties.

An artist doesn't need to be supported. Especially in the 21st century. Despite all the pirating, if they're really talented, they make tons of money regardless. Mozart continued to compose new music in the depths of debt and depression, on his fucking death bed. For an artist, the creation of the art itself is the greatest satisfaction. An audience to listen is all the support they need. This idea of supporting the artist by purchasing music is a concoction of the record companies.

True - depends whether you want the liner notes, etc. Another solution is going to a chain store carrying music (Best Buy, Barnes & Noble) and asking them to order the music for you. OR, get a debit card for your checking account. OR, buy one of the rechargeable debit cards (much like a gift card), etc.

It generally breaks down like this: Right off the top, Apple takes ~$0.30 from that $0.99 sale. Of the $0.69 left, half goes to the label. The other half goes to the publisher once the label's initial investment in the artist has been recouped. Generally speaking, a label invests somewhere in the neighborhood of $300-500k for artists. And with digital sales being what they are these days, that means an artist really only starts getting paid after they've sold nearly half a million downloads.

What grabs me s the fact that in most cases the screaming is pretty terrible, but the way Cochet does it actually seems to sound better, hard to explain really why. I think perhaps it is because his voice doesn't drown out the rest of the music, good balance of the two! Awesome \m/-_-\m/

(Pardon for the late reply) Screaming in general. I'm not usually a fan of this sort of thing, but Vlad has an interesting way of using his talent - much better than some of the incoherent nonsense that seems to be the norm for similar artists. He does a very good job! :D Opened me up to a whole new genre this did!

TheSinquisitor Oh well, gotta find that right band to really open the door. I found that unclean vocals became less incoherent the more I listened to them. Sometimes, the words mean less than the emotion and mood of the song (something very common in black metal).

Pulled this from a site for ya. In the popular digital realm, a $9.99 download on a program like iTunes nets artists a modest 94 cents -- less than a 10% cut. The record company takes $5.35 and Apple keeps the remaining $3.70. Artists get nine cents for each individual song downloaded on Napster and iTunes. To put that into perspective, musicians need to sell 12,399 songs a month to earn a salary equal to a McDonald’s employee.

@AustrianReaper Ur right, I can't handle social anxiety. I dont want want to sound arrogant, but the origin of the hate was that I was more intelligent than my colleagues at early age, I just hadn't a lot in common with my classmates, but a lot to talk with adults. What I did at those times was to do all the work in like 30 minutes and then asking my teacher to leave the classroom to read something. I think that fucked my social skills. that's why I'm here searching for underground music.

You have generalized to the extreme. If we lived in a condition where every individual pirated music I would support your position. But the fact remains that artists won't starve as a consequence of a single or even a million people pirating music. And of the many that do pirate, a great portion do take the opportunity of purchasing the music if they truly do enjoy it. As a symbol of their affection. Furthermore, it is not the priority of any true artist to sustain oneself through the work.

@darkdrageon Just to be clear: My answer wasn't directly pointed at you, since I don't know you, but I heard that "metal pride" crap way too often to take it seriously. Metal is music, it's a lifestyle, but it's nothing to be proud of, since it's not something you achieve, but something, you willingly choose. For me it's like sitting in a restaurant and then say "I'm proud I ordered spaghetti. Eating spaghetti and enjoying it will make me superior to all those chili-con-carne-eating guys"

@darkdrageon I like metal, appreciate mirrorthrone and work in a job that serves society - can't see myself being hated in any way by society. That "metalfans are the outcasts of society"-crap is just an excuse, that's used way to often by people that just don't want to confront a social anxiety or something in that category. Hate is mostly provoked by something, so instead of thinking of a weird "comeback", it would be way more effective to just take a look in the mirror and observe the cause

But i cannot afford the price record companies charge and i am not going to deprive myself of this beauty.

"A one-man band is a musician who plays a number of musical instruments simultaneously using their hands, feet, limbs, and various mechanical contraptions." I don't think he plays guitar with his arms, bass with his feet and drums with Drum stick in his ass.
