You need a super clear piece of glass and you have to clean it really well before painting. The piece you had looked like it was somewhat frosted.

What tool did you use to remove the amolgam on the mirror?

Well, it is possible! Just found out you have to use Rust Oleum product! Shake it really, really well and keep shaking whilst spraying and the effect will be astonishing!

No Idea what brand of paint you used. You did not mention cleaning the acrylic sheet prior to painting. I could see finger prints, smudges cleaned that should have been off. When you exposed the other side, you didn't remove the protective film to show the actual finished product.

Apparently it's impossible to achieve the mirrored effect at home. I don't really know.
